A lot of people in the game are very agro over this.One well known trainer voiced his opinion to PH at a race meeting recently and basically said what others are thinking.Certainly not an asset to racing and certainly not wanted.

Surely with all this abnormal betting and questionable behaviour this should have been noticed by the feds but it appears no one has been asked.Certainly don't swallow the tongue tie story .The horses gear is checked off as they leave the stabling area and if anything is left off the trainer is dealt with accordingly.I agree with Freda that all gear must be put on at the cross ties and you can't just add stuff willy nilly.I would certainly hope that something will be done about this. We already have the race fixing issue in racing going on at the moment,the Wier/Currie situation in aussie and now this {on a smaller scale} This clip was forwarded from overseas and our integrity image is already extremely poor.The only people that can deal with this is the RIU.The stipes that day ,Davidson,Oatham,Wadley, and McLaughlin so they need to be watching a bit more closely and switch on to the jobs they are all paid to do.

I think one of the main issues is that they are not being taught and until this happens the situation will not even start to correct itself.A lot of this is very basic stuff.

I really do hope they follow it up.I will keep my ear to the ground and I will ring the gentleman back in a month.

I have contacted NZTR and hopefully they will follow it up and address the problem.First they need to identify who and why this is such a huge problem before a fatality occurs.I live in hope but am not overly hopeful with this lot.The gentleman I spoke to assured me itwould be addressed.

Another fall in the south island.The standard of riding in the south island is appalling.Kumara,Hokitika and now Wingatui.All apprentices.Clipping heels and poking into places they shouldn't be in.How long will it be before there is a disaster ??The teaching of these riders is the disaster at present and is obviously way below what is needed for raceday.This needs to be sorted out {the teaching of these riders} asap and NZTR needs to address it.How many warnings do they think they are going to get.

I am sure the RHC will want it.Maybe the money owed should go back to the clubs as they are not disbanded.Going back to this land grab,would NZTR be able to sell up/mortgage the % owned by the freehold clubs ??There appears to be quite a few that are part freehold and this could be another can of worms.Clubs need to be looking at the constution and working out how they can protect themselves or at the very least look after the community.Clubs in various areas need to get together and try to work through this as if NZTR gets their hands on it they will piss it up against the wall and will proberbly give themselves a pay rise !!!
