Unfortunately Hans made a real mess of the corner. Checked in off heal and boom. He’s very lucky. A few grazes and a few stitches required. But he’s his happy self and enjoying a short holiday.

Not really a welfare issue. Just a simple mistake of missing a vaccination by a few days. We cannot nominate a dog that is not vaccinated. So vaccination run out in between nominating and the race.

I’m not happy at all with it. Didn’t think we needed to change. 2 abandoned meetings lately. Nothing to bind it together. Old sand had lime, this hasn’t . Sand is same as invercargill but our track it totally different. Might be my bad luck but I’ve had more injuries since new sand than I have in years. Had to top up with course sand this week to help with drainage. Unfortunately it was one of my guys who broke a hock last night. But he’s getting it fixed and will home soon.

Yes. Entire team stood down for 10 days after dog that was scratched on Monday was positive to coronavirus. Hopefully GRNZ stick to their guns and don’t change rules like the seem to every 5 minutes
