  1. Mark Walker was at the track and again reiterated the intention for Imperatriz to stay in Melbourne to contest the Group I Manikato Stakes and Champions Sprint at Flemington. “The mare is so happy here and I don’t see any sense in putting her on a float,” Walker said. “They are prestigious races and she’s loving it down here.”
  2. In to $5 after that.
  3. Hope the bath wasn't too cold holy ravioli. She's a step closer to making the C label.
  4. 1.82 lay price on Betfair. Still steady $6 for the Everest. If she bolts in the Moir they'll have a fair bit of leverage for an Everest slot I'd say.
  5. 1.75 Laddies and Neds this am. NZTAB the same.
  6. Gun mare Imperatriz draws perfectly for Moir Stakes Moir Stakes favourite Imperatriz. By Racenet 01:22pm • 27 September 2023 8 Comments Star New Zealand mare Imperatriz has drawn barrier five for Friday night's Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at The Valley. A field of eight will go around in the 1000m showpiece including grand Queensland sprinter Rothfire which has drawn barrier one with Blake Shinn to ride. The meeting also sees the running of the Group 2 Stutt Stakes while WA wonder mare Amelia's Jewel will tackle the Stocks Stakes over the mile journey. Amelia's Jewel has drawn barrier 10 of 11 in the Stocks Stakes after drawing the carpark when successful in the Let's Elope Stakes at Flemington a fortnight ago. 7. Winnie'll bring that won't he?
  8. Can't see what difference that might make. Please explain.
  9. Does freeview have the greatest sports audience?
  10. I've been talking about that on these social media sites and elsewhere for at least the last 15 years and not going to reitrerate that here. Essentially though, that we offer a much more competitive, attractive and fair wagering product alongside a much more competitive, attractive and fair racing product. Entain is the only organisation I've seen in NZ racing for the last couple of decades that might have a handle on that. If not, it's game over.
  11. Can't see FTA tv making any difference to turnover. Good if they do but it's a drop in the ocean for that purpose. More important things to do and investments to make imo.
  12. The 2% was in reference to the chance of any horse that races covering its costs.
  13. Certainly wasn't. I make her a 12% chance in the Everest at this stage.
  14. Really? When you've got what? Less than 2% chance of doing so? Certainly a valid aim but rarely achieved. Doubt many of the players would do so for that purpose. Dream of it maybe.
  15. No. It would still be a restricted race (to horses sold at Karaka) wouldn't it, not open entry?
  16. And the TAB still have had at $5.50 last I looked, so they don't seem too swayed by the press reports.
  17. They also on one hand want more opportunities for fillies and mares to get black type, then take this one away for SI horses.
  18. It also seems to me that the race fits the criteria to stay listed. I'd certainly say it is a target race for many in its own right at that time of year. It meets the rating criteria and wasn't on a warning or alert. It is also well placed for SI horses leading up to Group races at the Wellington Cup meeting. Hard to figure out where it failed.
  19. The 22/23 race rating for the Timaru Cup last year was 100.5 cf. the expected minimum of 100. There is no specific information in the report justifying the decision to delist it. Only the general criteria below against which those decisions were apparently made. Key criteria for the removal of races from the Pattern included: consistent depth and quality of the field; whether the race was well-placed as a lead-up to Group races; whether the race was an important target in its own right in the region, with no alternatives; opportunities for the category of horse to attain other black-type in similar races over the season.
  20. The Taranaki race has gone to alert. They have 2 more editions generally to get back on track. Wairarapa Breeders looks fine doesn't it? Wanganui Guineas needs to get its act together.
