  1. No they didn't. They mentioned that the big syndicates had that number of factors weighted but they needed to focus on key factors like ability and having a key number to hang their hat on.
  2. Looks like they are in the future.
  3. And here's a bit of the hard data from OIA requests shortly after that which evidence the risk they took for the huge increase in costs. Domestic Racing 2008/09 2009/10 2010/11 2011/12 Turnover GBR Turnover GBR Turnover GBR Turnover GBR FOB 42,591,832 4,059,581 52,709,045 1,628,421 57,310,826 6,688,593 70,615,380 8,683,330 % margin 9.53% 3.09% 11.67% 12.30%
  4. Nope. They and RITA went first. https://www.facebook.com/TISCNZ/videos/488612005409838/
  5. So can any horse that stops suddenly from that position. What makes you think this one is likely to do that?
  6. The other half of this.
  7. You'll have to figure that out yourself Lord Pasta.
  8. Don't think it would be much use to you Thommo. Most of the selections don't represent the poster's assessment of the best chance to win the race, don't take into account gear changes, barrier draws, wide without cover, 3yos after Christmas, down in class, or weight changes etc, nor do they generaly place much emphasis on recent form. There are often long runs of misses as well. The other small thing is that all selections are put up before the race. So, I doubt it would be helpful advocating to rescind the ban for you.
  9. I can assure you DB as many here know, that Leggy and Curious are one and the same. However, neither are related in any way to mardi.
  10. Oh true! Fair enough. I meant not in the normal course of my actual betting though.
  11. You are comparing something like buying growth stocks with buying a lotto ticket.
  12. That's what you don't seem to get though. Completely different missions which you seem to be mixing up and has been pointed out by others here. One is aimed at long term profit, The other at turning a profit over a single 6 race event which I don't believe is consistently possible and not something that I would even attempt.
  13. I suppose you have choices ATA. You could choose not to read it if it upsets you so much. Or maybe you could add some constructive comment to the discussion?
  14. How do you know that?
  15. Not only that, he's run about 6 lengths faster without them than he ever did with them by my calculations. I'd be putting them in mothballs.
  16. You didn't reach the bottom or the grist of the matter? What was the matter again?
  17. Had a good blow I think he said. Have to say the NZTAB may have got this one right!
  18. Under the proposed legislation the Board would be accountable directly to the Minister. I would say they would also be subject to the jurisdiction of the Ombudsman with respect to any complaints.
  19. Went to Foxton this morning to see whether they still had the trial hurdles in the shed. Apparently loaned them to someone a few years back. Not sure who!
  20. The likes of CWJ used to ride in a hurdle race every year so he could ride in highweights. They count. So do the jumping races.
  21. Yep. Needs to happen.
