  1. From the LEVIN TRACK TRUST (LEVIN TRACK OPERATING CHARITABLE TRUST) MANDATORY CONDITIONS FOR RESUMPTION OF TRACK OPERATIONS We have been asked to resume Jump Outs within the next three weeks as there are trainers who had dispensation to keep their horses ticking over on their home tracks plus the jumping season is upon us and the jumping trainers are looking to run their horses in the Jumper’s Flat heats at our Jump outs. The protocol regarding who is and who is not allowed to attend the Jump outs is exactly the same as for daily track work. Once again, the Health and Safety Officer will have Health Screening Questionnaires completed by all trainers, riders, their assistants and Starting Gate personnel attending the jump outs. We ask you to please bear with us during this time and trust that in the not too distant future that racing can return to some form of normality.
  2. I don't see why they couldn't/shouldn't run jumpouts May/June anyway. That can only help more horses be ready for the July resumption.

  4. $200k added would retain their G1 status and the clubs could find any balance. That still means some of that money has to found elsewhere, outside what those races earn. Were those turnover figures inclusive of FOB or just tote?
  5. So if they stick with the plan of matching stakes to earnings, maybe 100k Derby and 50k for Guineas and Oaks next season?
  6. What is a barrier certificate? Does that get you in the pub at level 3?
  7. No. As I told you he was backing up from winning the 2000m Prix du Prince D'Orange fresh up.
  8. As far as I recall there never used to be official jumpouts.
  9. Yes. I don't have to go far to find horses "spelling" at the moment that are maybe being lunged every other day or going on the treadmill or walker or whatever.
  10. As I said, you can call it what you like or not. I've run spelling operations where horses came from trainers with instructions for the "spell" along the lines of 2 weeks completely off. Then a 1 1/2 mile canter 3 times a week finished off with a furlong of 3/4 every week or so. I can certainly remember examples of those horses winning fresh up at 1 1/2 miles within 8 weeks of going back into full work.
  11. Really? I know a fair few "spelling" in the lockdown period that were in light work. I suppose you don't have to call that spelling if you don't want to but that was my point.
  12. Maybe the bet should be effective from July 4th?
  13. Suppose it depends what you consider a spell from full training. Whether that means no work or can include light work.
  14. t'll have blinkers on and be on the lead so it doesn't get too far ahead.
  15. Well I told him he needs to give me at least 3 figure odds because of that, the 60/1 ratio of horses on the books and the fact that I don't have a trainer's licence. No response yet.
  16. Yep. And if it's far enough in front won't matter if it's fieldshy.
  17. I did get the sense from some sources that NZTR couldn't say anything about what they did or didn't know outside of what was officially released.
  18. It was one of the slowest Arc's in history though maybe not quite a Heavy 93.
  19. He actually beat a nice horse in the Arc the year before called Balmerino which from memory had won his previous start fresh up for John Dunlop in the Valdoe Stakes at Goodwood over 2000m.
  20. Yep. Probably won't even gallop in company. Maybe with my lab on the beach.
  21. I agree Reefton but I've taken the extra 25 a week for warming (it's half a bottle of Scotch that Winnie won't get), Also, the wage subsidy and the interest free 10k is on the way. Not sure what I'll do with that yet. Maybe buy a racehorse, though I've got to pay it back so that may not be such a good idea.
  22. Exactly. And they are now looking at orienting advantaged assistance to viable businesses that might reasonably be expected to ba able to pay back the $s. Rightly so IMO.
  23. It's a long time ago, and we aren't all Vincent, but I remember watching Alleged win the Prix du Prince D'Orange at Longchamps, breaking the course record for 10 furlongs after being off all summer with sore shins and a virus. Had one more start that season to win the Arc for the second time. Don't think he had an official jumpout or trial but may have run in a couple of Derbys on the gallops at Ballydoyle.
  24. That's like what we are getting. Don't ask questions cos we won't answer them anyway. Who are you an apologist for in particular Greg?
