  1. I'm here. Seen but not heard perhaps?
  2. Me neither though some punters (including barryb I think) make successful use of them.
  3. Prove they made her go faster.
  4. The 2017 financials show current assets of $13 and an operating loss of ($133,253).
  5. Did here Kakama. DEVELOPING STORY: Darren Weir stables raided by Victorian Police Darren Weir Photo: Darryl Sherer Article Author Brad Waters 30 January 2019 Detectives from Victoria Police’s sports integrity unit have raided the Ballarat and Warrnambool operations of the state’s premier trainer Darren Weir on Wednesday morning. Rumours of an investigation into the Weir stable have been circulating around racing for months before the police hit the Weir stables. Police have confirmed they have arrested Weir and two other men and taken in for questioning. "They will now be interviewed in relation to sporting integrity matters, including obtain financial advantage by deception, engaging in conduct that corrupts or would corrupt a betting outcome of event or event contingency, use of corrupt information for betting purposes and attempt to commit indictable finanical offence, namely obtain financial advantage by deception," a Victoria Police statement read. "A number of items, including a firearm and what is believed to be a conducted engery device were also seized from the properties. "This investigation remains ongoing and has also been assisted by Racing Victoria." Weir’s stable sent out a Commonwealth record of 491 winners and won more than $31 million in prizemoney last season. Racing Victoria has released a statement on the matter. Almost all media organisations have named Weir but RV’s general manager of integrity Jamie Stier says the organisation was not prepared to name the trainer involved. “Racing Victoria’s Integrity Services team has been conducting an investigation into the activities of licensed persons in the Warrnambool and Ballarat areas. During the course of our investigation we sought the support of Victoria Police’s Sporting Integrity Intelligence Unit on the matter, instigating their investigation,” Stier said. “The Sporting Integrity Intelligence Unit this morning executed warrants at properties in Warrnambool and Ballarat where they arrested three licensed persons for questioning. Members of the Racing Victoria Integrity Services team attended licensed stables to assist Victoria Police and to investigate potential offences against the Rules of Racing. “As the matters are the subject of on-going investigations by Victoria Police and Racing Victoria we are not at liberty at this time to disclose the identities of the persons arrested nor the details of the investigations. “Racing Victoria is committed to maintaining the highest integrity standards in our sport and, where appropriate, we will continue to work with Victoria Police on those investigations.” As the matter is ongoing, comments have been turned off on this article. 6. I thought that was about beating.
  7. Can't even do that. I'm the designated driver. Hope lunch is good. I've already been through and marked all the horses starting with B and D though.
  8. I'm off to the races tomorrow at Trentham tomorrow. First time at the races in NZ for over 4 years! May or may not have a bet but any value bet suggestions welcome.
  9. They just make up stuff and add more rubbish to support their cause. It's worked in the past, so the bs continues. 70% of rainfall from June through September? Then an example of cancellations during the other 30% rainfall month 8 month period. "The Government has to stop the TAKE, TAKE, TAKE"? I'd say the government needs to reduce the GIVE,GIVE, GIVE and act more in line with our neighbouring jurisdictions to force the racing industry to stand on its own four legs.
  10. Yes. You know my opinion on free speech. Of course I would speak out.
  11. Don't see how you can find any value relying on the form line. That's what all the other losers do.
  12. I agree. I do it quite often. If I couldn't I'd leave also.
  13. I'm guessing that Fred does a lot of guessing.
  14. I don't think you can get a betting slip the day after the races Chief.
  15. You obviously didn't read the decision. No difference at all I'm afraid. That's the rules and the law.
  16. As I said, I don't know what she said. However, it is clear from that decision that she is free to criticise provided that criticism does not involve insults, abuse, obscenities nor assert misconduct or corrupt practice. It is a fundamental human right as you say Chief.
  17. I know that the application of blinkers appears to improve the performance of some horses (and worsen that of others for that matter). However, unless I have very good inside information, I generally don't know which ones those will be. The fact remains that on average, the likelihood of any given horse winning with BO does not increase, so it's useless information from a punting perspective. Mardi has posted substantive analysis evidencing that. As usual with Thomas, its fairy-tale rather than fact. If you have evidence to the contrary, please post it for all to see and back up your claim. Otherwise, you appear to be as silly as Thommo. Thanks.
  18. I don't know what she said but did you not read the RIU v Morton decision re licence holders right to make critical comment in social media or elsewhere?
  19. Faster than what?
  20. I think that should read that the horse drawn widest will be in gate #4, not gate #9?
  21. OK. So it is another population stat not an individual horse assessment of fitness? I'll add it to the BP.
  22. What the hell is the "21 day racing pattern". Is that another population stat I need to add to the BP to get it to stop losing money?
  23. How do you know they are a good lead? And for that matter, how do you know there is a track bias? What exactly is that? Would it not be better to develop your own stats? And how can raw barrier stats be a useful indicator if they are not generated in relation to the chance of the individual horses in the first place? Otherwise, they surely just distort markets don't they if more punters rely on them?
  24. Trying to update the BP Thommo. You say the above but with respect to the "course specialist" variable you earlier said: " I apply a max 50% upgrade in value units at times.... " So, what are the criteria that determine whether it is 20% or 50%? Thanks.
