  1. The tragedy for me here is that even though he knew he had consumed the cocaine, he rocked up to race ride anyway without at least getting tested to make sure he was clear first. Also odd is that there is evidence from an "un-named" expert saying that she’s never had a case where a person has used cocaine by way of ingestion through drinking. Coca tea is widely used and legal in Argentina and some other South American countries at least. Even the pope was reported as drinking it at some stage. It is a part of traditional indigenous medical practice there. I'm not for a minute suggesting its presence in a jockey's system on race day should be condoned but there do seem to be some odd things about this case, including that only 20 riders were tested. There's no indication in the report about how they were selected.
  2. Website. I don't use the app.
  3. Oops. That should have read, does it need some sort of help?
  4. Why? It needs some sort of help.
  5. Still haven't fixed it. Ruakaka Odds Surge All Races Activate Odds Surge for bigger odds in ALL RACES at Riccarton this Saturday. One bet per race. Max Bet $100.
  6. Clock still needed. Yesterday is today and if I go to any race at Riccarton on Saturday, at the top it says "Ruakaka Odds Surge All Races"
  7. Does add some hilarity to this joint though.
  8. So they move it to a track that at this stage isn't functional and might well not be by then if they race on it too soon as it seems is the plan.
  9. Her grandson, Keysborough, at the trials on Tuesday. https://mediarnsws.skyracing.com.au/Race_Replay/2024/08/20240820ROSR06T_V.mp4?hdnts=exp=1724182667~acl=/*~hmac=f5c8ffeafc655df7f77224afc374a4fc42c66a9c5b52c49e4a7a1cfbc0b3839d
  10. Is there a programming issue here? Two 50k open races at Riccarton with 6 noms each (and they are actually R80s), and two one win jumping races at Hawera on Sunday which were overflowing and had to both be split.
  11. Yeahh, I saw a few work out of the Rangiora barn the other day. Looked in great nick to me.
  12. Are you saying that might be a competence issue rather than a track bias?
  13. Why do you like them as betting races? I don't see much value in either
  14. Yet even a generation prior, paddocks were ploughed up every 4 or 5 years, fallowed, a cover or rotation crop sown, ploughed back in and then the pasture resown.
  15. Grab a beer or something to eat
  16. I almost never bet oncourse anyway so, wouldn't bother me from that standpoint. Bets are long on before I get there.
  17. Can anyone explain why the races there have a stake of only 15300 and the two 3yos 37600?
  18. Yep, because they have birdcage times etc in them and I don't carry a phone when working around horses.
  19. The online calendar is updated and the RPG.
  20. Thanks. Sorry, I missed that meeting. Not in the programme book. It's hard to keep up with the date and programme changes. Question still applies though I think.
  21. Agree. Warm winter covers, a pile of hay, mature wind shelter, 3 squares. Luxury compared to the majority of horses.
  22. I don't think anyone is co-ordinating much anywhere. Huey's point is valid though. There may be up and comer jumpers trialling in preparation for next season but given the uncertainties about that, I doubt there are many.
  23. Except that probably well over half the horses that might want jump trials are in the CD.
  24. But where were they when we needed them?
  25. Jump trials are not on the synthetic there.
