  1. What were his comments post race? George Simon is a great judge and he could see the horse travelling, if the horse wasn't injured then why didnt Chad budge?
  2. The functions and venue hire ellerslie host has got to play a major role in promoting racing, when people venture to the windows and see the vast amount of racing land they can and will stand in awe and often take photos for Instagram, facebook and so on. It can be these moments punters plan their racing experience.
  3. Racing in a populated area creates awareness, a presence which draws interest from local community who otherwise wouldn't be aware of horse racing. It would be a backwards step to disappear into the wilderness.
  4. If you want people at racing you stay in town or put train tracks on your door step.
  5. A great example of no whip racing came right after covid when apprentices were used to capitalise on weights. It's not entertaining and racing is less competitive, no one likes to watch a lesser version of their favorite sport. Jockeys should abide by the rules and the rules should be enforced to get the message across, but whip use is a high level skill set which should be managed not eliminated. For safety and integrity.
  6. Worst start in the history of the trotting cup.
  7. $1,800 trifecta. Did the lack of crowds on-course impact pools? Yes Lloyd William's has clocked the cup, he may as well be cloning cup winners.
  8. Not sure if serious?
  9. NZ racing should be on trackside1. Trackside2 is a chop shop with no extended coverage. Bring back post race jockey/trainer interviews, I miss hearing the thoughts around the potential of a horse or what races they might aim for.
  10. Trackside2 is back to back racing, they move on quickly. If a race is on both channels then choose ts1.
  11. What's so great about this conversation is Copy That won.
  12. You must have been watching on Sky2 Australia
  13. But that's racing and it's good to see jockeys given opportunity.
  14. I thought the same on the ride from Marine, looks to have plenty of ability and has been let down by the ride.
