Racing in a populated area creates awareness, a presence which draws interest from local community who otherwise wouldn't be aware of horse racing. It would be a backwards step to disappear into the wilderness.

A great example of no whip racing came right after covid when apprentices were used to capitalise on weights. It's not entertaining and racing is less competitive, no one likes to watch a lesser version of their favorite sport. Jockeys should abide by the rules and the rules should be enforced to get the message across, but whip use is a high level skill set which should be managed not eliminated. For safety and integrity.

NZ racing should be on trackside1. Trackside2 is a chop shop with no extended coverage. Bring back post race jockey/trainer interviews, I miss hearing the thoughts around the potential of a horse or what races they might aim for.

Trackside2 is back to back racing, they move on quickly. If a race is on both channels then choose ts1.
