  1. new scorer - same outcome - sums up that place!
  2. and after all of that he still has the scores wrong: Richie earned 19.1 points and he has him down with 16.1 points and he's given Korio 5 points for a sub (with Korio's pick Megablast scratched), but his rules state "Scratchings after entries close go onto favorite" - Megablast was scratched before entries closed (1pm NZT) so Richie was initially declared the winner, was then relegated to fourth, and now should be promoted to third
  3. I see he has now deleted all the posts that were pointing out his scoring errors and come out with his usual "you're all so ungrateful" rant
  4. Poor guy can't run a comp to save himself. He's had an absolute Barry Crocker today. $400 prize and only 30 entries but that's only the half of it. He comes up with this twist in the scoring where you get triple the win dividend if your best bet wins. But then he forgets about that and early on gives someone double points (2 x 5 points) for a best bet winner. Has it pointed out to him and tries to correct it but gets the maths wrong. Has this pointed out to him and gets all defensive (no surprises there). But wait it gets better - having been reminded about his triple dividend rule, he forgets about it again later in the day and only awards 10 points to a best bet, when he should have awarded three x 5 = 15. And on this occasion it made the difference between 1st and 2nd place. ?
  5. LMAO again If you have a look at the various threads on RC and the number of views in each, there is absolutely no way on earth they'd get anywhere near a million in a month. Perhaps a zero or two added on to the end for good effect!?
  6. figures
  7. a million hits - LMAO is that why it is going at dial-up speed?
  8. Yep I remember that Hesi, but I also remember the 20+ length last at the next start. Only 1 win from 21 starts for a reason - save your money. Both Tomelilla and Ringo will finish ahead of Taurus. Qiji Express will win the Castletown and bet of the day is Platinum Angel in Race 7 on the Sunshine Coast.
  9. Very interesting article. I use the Kelly formula to determine bet size but I'm not nearly as scientific with calculating my probabilities.
  10. Thanks Robert - that's an interesting comparison. When you look at data I just found on NZR site on total starts in the current season (Pitman 419, Marsh 437, Te Akau 409) they look a little out of whack with the number of horses in work. Either Pitman's numbers in work are down on their usual level at the moment or on average their runners have a lot more starts. Maybe a combination of both as he does tend to run his horses a few times at various carnivals.
  11. Interesting how his ad says 3rd in the premiership with a comparatively small stable. Is that true? Compared to what? I would have thought he'd be in the top 3 or 4 stables in terms of runners/starters.
  12. I don't think you can call that a "comp" Hesi. An ambiguous set of rules (half the entrants didn't realise he intended people to pick the horses in the right order), a hickory scratching replacement rule, and sporadic and partial score updates. Half the fun of comps is everyone knowing where they stand after each race - that's what makes PJ's comp so good. They've shown for some time they can't run a comp properly - If he didn't put the $200 up he would have been lucky to get 10 entries in that sham.
  13. Top 5 in Australasia over 2000m but not so much over 1800m - bit short for her today?
  14. Apparently its in the top 5 WFA horses in Australasia, on a good track, over 2000m, going right handed, with a barrier draw inside of 6, with a genuine pace, ...........
  15. Used to work with a guy who was very intelligent and constantly wanted/needed people to know this. Another colleague suggested that we start every meeting by all agreeing that this guy was the most intelligent person in the room, so that he didn't have to spend half of the meeting trying to prove it. Perhaps Scooby should run a poll on RC to that effect. The difference with the guy I worked with was that he didn't have a nasty bone in his body.
  16. Nice to see a discussion with 16 or 17 posts without anyone resorting to swearing or personal abuse, and without anyone having to prove that they're the smartest person in NZ racing (or in fact tell everyone that they're the smartest person in NZ racing).
  17. Silent Sedition in the Coolmore Treasure to be the first Kiwi trained horse home in the Oaks - special option, Treasure paying $8.50 Smiling More in R1 at Hastings Aristocratic Miss in R1 at Sydney
  18. Didn't he ride that handy Richards sprinter (name escapes me) to win in Melbourne a few years back? Not as big a negative as four weeks between runs (in my opinion). Bonneval did the double last year but they were only three weeks apart.
