  1. Whats the problem, punters know that he could miss the start, thats the chance they take. No difference to Lord module in the 80s, that old shit was worse.
  2. Thought i would start this thread as some of our jockeys are performing average at best, not all, but been some bad ones recently. Could be NZ & Aussie rides. Wonderful Barbie R1 today. Taiki Yanagida rode it crazy, huge effort for 4th. Get on next time with better rider.
  3. Seems Beteasy not sure who, what or where we are racing ?
  4. Well, didnt see race, but didnt pay div.
  5. I reckon Divine Mr Tycoon in Race 1 today will be hard to beat with Williams up.
  6. Saw that, i thought he had won more also.
  7. Obviously a talented horse, But broke overcheck at start, driver decided to throw it away and not use one?? Horse began, then threw head around and galloped?? Did punters get fair go?
  8. I see hockeys excuse was that he felt weak? Only ride for him on the day?? Settled back, went wide around turn, at this stage he probably thought he would get away with it, draw the stick, run home nicely for a placing. Sadly for him, other 2 horses started to fade a bit, while his horse was just cruising!!
  9. Bit of a shocker all right.
  10. Well, Another one, it seems none of these trainers actually read what is in their horses food!! Im sure they read use by dates on their food in the fridge, makes you wonder.
  11. Interesting comment about inflation. What would be interesting, if somebody posted how much all costs were racing a horse, compared to now? Me thinks that would be interesting
  12. Obviously not, seeing as meeting is on while cambridge is racing just down the road at the same time.
  13. Wheres Berri?
  14. Wow, thats crap money.
  15. If the club cant afford above plough, what about this cheaper option.
  16. Harness racing at Cambridge is on at the same time of this meeting? What were they thinking? Or maybe harness folk not that important?
  17. Yes, Oreillys always great for harness. What happened to Patrick, had a stack of horses racing
  18. Enteebee, Those horses you mentioned was quite a while ago, it seems no real stars in the last 10 years? I just wonder if these type of sales are no longer attractive.
  19. In a few years, looking back at results, we will see the 2018 Kurow Cup winner- Go Davey? Ha Ha. Maybe they should gave dropped the Kurow Cup name from race, and called it the battlers handicap
  20. Sounds quite a bit initially, but i suppose they can race a couple of times a week, and prize money seems pretty good compared to horse
  21. Does Michael House still run his own ready to run sales? Not heard about them recently. It put his name out there, and good on him for getting involved, but surely the results over previous years have been below par- Think Highview Thommy the exception, maybe even Franco Nelson was from sales too, but not too many to mention. Can remember House talking up Glenalvon, went half in 55, sold for $195k, won $31k. Are these sales bad for buyers, get them up quickly to run fast halves, burnt out by the time they race?
  22. I like billie jean too Richie. Mickey jay R1, Christmas Toyboy R7 & Boomer Bailey R8. When you look at that Kurow cup field, makes the day a little depressing.
  23. Amazing run. Especially as most winners were coming from inside strip.
  24. I was amazed how many jockeys at te rapa yesterday made their moves far too early, way before the turn, many ending up wide, then weakening half way down straight. Danielle Johnson had purfect run in first race, In the one one, 2 L from leader. But she chose to go forward 600m out, pushed 3 wide around turn, faded 100m to finish 2nd??
  25. I cant see 2 weeks between meetings an issue. Sadly, the decline in jockey numbers, means a decline in jockey class, less options to choose. Christ, going back several years, we had some very experienced jocks, not now thou
