  1. How many members now chief. You can use same formula as rc if you want. Add up all members, multiply by 1000, then reduce by 20%. Good enough for them, good enough for us
  2. Ohokaman stuffed up us well at the weekend. Always good to have a look at the stuff ups, real entertaining.
  3. Ohokaman should have stayed here, he would of loved it. Now he’s trying to score a comp, it’s a bloody disaster. BB, short for best bet bud. Then you have p4p telling all to get on Padraig in winter cup, er, mmm, well it’s not in the field ???
  4. A horse pulling extra weight from a standing start would be a disadvantage , but once going at speed, in some ways extra weight is an advantage on hard surface. Try stopping trailer when attaching to tow ball, loaded & unloaded. Totally different from a galloper that carries weight to pulling sulky
  5. Agree, Globe what’s the plan for your trotter? No doubt cup week will be the plan, or maybe Aussie?
  6. Thought I had read the same Double R. Pretty sure some brainy but bored professor came up with some sort of info. I always thought the lighter the better too, but maybe not the case
  7. I never said he always drove for Clarrie? I was responding to your remark, that his horses went better when somebody else drove them.
  8. Barry Purdon, big baa big !
  9. Brodie, Frees Best, Hondos Away, Best dream , never won a race with any other driver than Cowie, so Brodie might not be on the money on that one ?. Also trained Kahuna Pele later on, he drive that in all his wins when he trained it
  10. This has been mentioned before. I thought that on a grit track, little difference between heavy and light drivers. Thought Eddie had good record driving, in fact can’t remember others driving the horses you mentioned , apart from junior drivers etc
  11. Braedoon, a nice type.
  12. Old mate of mine was telling me something similar recently.
  13. Kerslake too.
  14. Wankers hey, oh well at least your thinking of us all, a little creepy but that is scoobs.
  15. Just as well you said that here and not on other site, protected species there.
  16. So Max never trained in the Nelson area?
  17. Not sure about that. I know Peter Jones drove for him in his later years
  18. Ive been telling the Mrs that for years, doesn’t believe me.
  19. Ive not looked at trainers record last 12 months, but trainer stated he had a horror year, so I assume he battled a bit? Would it alter my betting if I knew virus in stable, most likely.
  20. Chief, not surprising that thread was pulled down from elsewhere, he probably got the call from the doctor to take it down! Main reason I think this site will really go forward, as posts are not altered or deleted here. Good one,
  21. Fair enough Basil, I suppose the way he said it upset a few, including myself. So many small stables/ hobby trainers around the country, battle around with their horses, most are never going to be much, but they all have one thing in common. They love their horses, maybe not the harness game at the moment, but love the horses. Getting up in cold mornings, to feed and work a horse that’s never paid a div, knowing that when they finally finish with the horse, it will end up in the next paddock with 20 others, eating carrots. Compare that to leading stables, these are mainly the ones in the headlines, sometimes for all the wrong reasons, horse not competitor, will be shipped on quickly, who knows where. So many country tracks would close with small trainers, and I love country racing. One reason I like to see level playing field, which it never will. So good luck to all you battlers at Blenheim today ?
  22. 100% agree with you. That’s what I stated earlier, trainers use when the moneys up, don’t when not. Gives the punter no confidence at all.
  23. Thought Weasel has valid point. Everyone has different ways on how they select horses to bet on. Surely this info is just as important as gear changes, which we are informed of.
  24. Other site took down above post, which is nothing unusual, as anything owner disagreed with was deleted quickly. Not sure why, it is on social media, so nothing secret. A guy called Lee seems to know a lot about it. He had stated 20-30 gallops & harness trainers are involved in process. As I’ve said before, if everything is all above board, why not name those using it? Then everyone can see results for themselves, might be more trainers interested, might be less interested, who knows.
  25. Yes. BOAY honours list. Oldwhiteman for his arsehole post, and maybe add Ashoka, for the longest post with nothing on it ?
