  1. You can keep your Del Mar picks. Ha Ha
  2. Your missing obvious points . Whoever takes over wagering will also take control of nz racing timetables etc. Will they want meetings starting at 10am on a sat, will they not show live races from nz because they clash with aussie racing? Talk around is one tv channel only, covering all aus/ nz racing. What happens if tabcorp, or whoever takes over, finds they are not making enough money for shareholders, well of course they pull out, its known they only have 3 yr contract. You have to look at this more closely
  3. I do like the successful punter bit. You have stated recently you dont bet anymore, in fact you said you hadnt had bet for a while. You never tip anything before a race, only tip you give us is that mile racing is boring? Maybe you had $2ew on your first ever bet that won, then gave up, i suppose that is a winning punter. Give us some confidence in you, take a screenshot and post bets before race, even tip a few before race. Not having a go at you brodie, but i think a few on here a little unsure
  4. Not even looked over there for couple weeks, last time i did look , nobody had posted for hours. And that includes scoobs made up posters!
  5. Yes, i think we all agree they have stuffed up, but i am worried that nz will fold easily like a pack of cards, and the real winners will be tabcorp and their shareholders.
  6. Didnt John Allen promise us a new fixed odds betting platform to begin August 2018?? Im sure he promised it early last year, Openbet rings a bell. So they have spent $40 mill on it, so whats happened with it??? More money to join Triple Trio?
  7. At first glance i agree. But if Tabcorp have little competition here, and manage to stop other operators, why would they change takeout rates? Its obvious this Messara report is all about making money, they dont appear to give a stuff how they do it. They will want nz to also work to aus betting regulations, if they do, you can say goodbye to live betting in nz. NZ HAVE TO KEEP CONTROL OF THIS!!
  8. A few sports not too happy.
  9. When you think about it, just shows how tab / racing has been run so badly. You have no competition, apart from on line operators, that have only really appeared to be a challenge last few years. Before that, you have monopoly, still using jetbet system from 80S, and get a huge % of every dollar spent at tab, some take outs huge on different bet types? Yet, you make no money? I suppose the only reason they like fixed odds, gives them chance to bet elsewhere to recover loses. Obviously run down for years
  10. Amazing Johnny survived tree falls, lion attacks, monkey poo etc, and a bath kills his bro?
  11. I think majority of smaller owners would be right behind it now, especially now that their local track may be lost.
  12. Yes, but tabcorp see that nz tab have monopoly, they would love that to be able to continue in nz. Which they would have total control. I would hate to see no other competition in nz, but i reckon tabcorp would try and push aus betting regulations on nz, which would be a disaster for punters.
  13. I just wonder. Did Winston know Messara from way back? He seems to love him, and for Winnie, he doesnt love too many? Messara was very vocal on the $11 bil Tatts - Tabcorp merger? Be interesting to know who has shares in Tabcorp. The Ofarrell Aus gambling report, states no live betting allowed in aus, if tabcorp takes over nz tab, will nz have to change its betting laws to aus standards? Where does that leave other operators in nz, will they be allowed to operate?? Will Tabcorp try to be the exclusive operator in nz, which again punters would be held to ransom by aus??? Tabcorp was behind failed Sunbets, piegate helped that to fail. I agree we should team up with aus operator, but we still need nz control. This could kill us in the long term.
  14. Right, Ive backed all 4 ew fixed odds. Ive never had a bet at Del Mar, dont even know where it is?. Crownbet has fixed odds as follows. R5-5 $23 R6-4 $19 R8-7 $14 R9-2 $6-50 I wont be watching any, as its fathers day, which is treated like mothers day, no sports or trackside!! Luckily still have device,
  15. Yep, i agree Jess. It was aimed at those $600 a head gobblers. The ones affected are the small breeders/ trainers/ owners. These are the ones that should be helped, but instead they are getting bent over and given one
  16. Looks like the only ones happy are the breeders, i suppose they are the only ones with a spare $600 laying around for a chop n veg! For me, the breeders are getting looked after, but for the trainers, especially the smaller types, they are getting the shit kicked out of them. How are they getting helped, by closing half the tracks, WTF. How many owners love their horses racing in their little home towns -GONE. How many owners love seeing their horses train at local track-GONE How many owners are involved in their local small clubs- GONE How many involved in each club work hard to organise events, crowds for race days. Those at this club level i feel sorry for. Comes a time, where trainers need to strike. This time, they will have the support of most owners & puntes. Stuff the suits and breeders! STRIKE STRIKE STRIKE
  17. Wow, hands down off 40m ?
  18. Good post yankiwi
  19. What about the pokies???
  20. Von, I have taken your advice. I usually bring out sun umbrella to place over outdoor table, but i have postponed date and will keep gumboots handy.
  21. Thanks hess, i feel better already. Although i do feel sorry for that poor girl having to pick them all !
  22. Yay, first day of spring, with some great racing in nz & aus. Pity that messara report on most of our minds rather than racing. Love spring?
  23. Hear Hear. Lets start some petitions
  24. Good work Curious, i like the fighting Erin Brockovich types, lets all get ready to rumble!
