    Talking of favourite Addington horses… One of mine would have to be Inky Lord, huge performance to win after being checked 450m from home. I used to follow and bet on dam Miss Bromac, which I think made following Inky even better. Like the story with grit in horses mouth before start, and the gentleman Ricky May driving, and Brian training…. a great story. Sadly the horse passed after, wow

    Very good point. You see kids abused and killed but never see activists outside court protesting. As for rugby / league I can see big changes ahead. It’s a worry NZ, the Green Party for instance, they are a shambles, yet they still get support?

    I thought last year that was the plan by Entain. Once TAB / Entain App sorted, everyone would also have another account linked, which I thought was Ladbrokes? May be wrong

    Well, for me Harness & Gallops in NZ been in the slide for years. All agencies see the real money is in sports gambling, so we are lucky we have major sports events all around the world to punt on at the TAB…. Otherwise wouldn’t survive on NZ racing.

    What about the old tote…. prices sliding up and down on the board. Getting funny looks from punters at the $1 windows while I’m punting at the $10 window😬

    Good memories…. Remember huge hailstorm early 80s during midweek meeting, 2yo trotters on track, race delayed for awhile, I think Zebec went in to win. Remember foggy night, Reon broadcasting from back of starting gate…. also calling race when a hare raced ahead of field down straight.

    So they were advertised to buy? Didn’t know that, thought it was someone local who came up with radio booster, if anyone has one a picture be great. initially, Radio Pacific didn’t broadcast in Christchurch, at night you could listen sometimes, during day harder. 3ZB would broadcast most races, always a chance they would interrupt during race with news😆😆, also 4zb listening to Forbury.

    I first went to Addington in the early 80s, firstly with my dad but after that with a group of 6 or so mates, hardly missed a meeting back then for many years. Loved the 2600 standing start, would pop out of bar, walk underneath and buy square pie, then head to start beside tree. If my horse went away, would walk to finish post to watch finish, if horse galloped, head to bar😆

    Haha, on the roof, thats dedication right there. My local in the early 80s was the Edgeware TAB. Saw a guy in the car park one night listening to Radio Pacific, had some contraption that had a timber flat base, then had a timber frame around, with wires wrapped around with some sort of tuning dial. Not sure if it worked too well or not, but sucked me into buying one🤭. Anyone remember, or got a pic?

    You don’t get it do you, I had a very good day on the punt yesterday, eliminating some horses/ jockeys that I think are well unders. Kah popped up a bit on some of her favoured runners, but others too. Until next weekend Chief…. No doubt if she wins a couple at some stage, you will give her a plug….

    Well I did mention it on earlier post, I said horse was so superior it could have won with the both of us on it. Yes, fell into a nice position, leader run them along, horse did the rest.
