  1. So if you lose the $10k, tab get nothing of that either?
  2. We have certain takeout rates on different bet types. Now i thought they were taken out when placing bet, here is the reason why. When taking exotic bets, TAB shows will pays. If you look at some small meetings, it is easy to look at doubles will pays, these are min $1 units, so its easy to see takeout has been deducted before will pays shown. Otherwise, will pays would be less that what is shown dont you think. Same as early win/ place tote odds, can clearly work out takeout has been taken. Your example is mickey mouse,
  3. Great mare, how can it be boring. Wins over many distances, different tracks, good or wet, looks likely to get beat on many occasions, yet she zooms home. Best mare i will see in my lifetime
  4. So if i lose in a race, i am paying a takeout? Regardless, the scenario above that i posted, must show that i pay more takeouts with my win- loss than curious did??
  5. But, i am betting into pools. On that example, i have turned over $5k, won on some, lost on others. That 15% takeout, when does it get taken out?
  6. Thank you Barry, i was just about to jump off cliff. Think curious and mardi relate to betfair most of time. At Least TAB has started offering bonus bets on certain races, that is a start. Hopefully they will continue to offer more. I see every week i have been sent offer that if i deposit $30, i will get $20 bonus bet, its a start. Only thing, its usually only that day, so i forget, otherwise i probably would. I notice beteasy are changing all their reward points, boosts, bonus top ups etc this month. Its a competitive market at the moment, in fact at least once a month, they give me free $100 bonus bet if i top up $100.
  7. Ok, i will play your game. For a start, if a punter is making $12k from every $10k bet constantly, TAB will get rid of you quick, you know that so it was a bloody stupid question. Anyway, as per usual you and mardi swing off the subject. Now i was talking about about turnover, so which is best option. A, Curious has 2 x $1000 win tote bets on nz tab, one loses one wins paying $2, gets $2000 back. B, Newmarket has $2000 in account, he bets on most races during the day, turns over more than $5000 for the day, ends day with same money in account, $2000. So which punter made the TAB more money for the day? Surely this is easy to decide.
  8. So every $10k you spend at the TAB, you get back $12k. No ifs, or buts, that is what you average?
  9. You serious? TAB get a slice of every dollar spent on turnover. Interesting to see what sort of spin you put on this. Just to confirm, so we dont turn this into punting 101 debacle, you do agree that tab get a slice of every dollar invested, at various deductions.
  10. Really? All up betting helps turnover bigtime. Someone starts a $50 all up, if it keeps coming in,can easily have thousands or more on later races, so is that not creating turnover that otherwise wouldnt exsist? I know many punters that take all up bets, mostly on favoured runners.
  11. Yep, i agree with that. Which is why most people want favoured runners winning. More people win, more turnover, more people interested. Which is why i totally disagree with your thoughts on $3 shots. If its value, and form is there, people get on.
  12. And you still work?? Just because you want to of course
  13. Well, not surprising. Money was up, so we knew the magic treatment was going to happen. Horse flew out, held on in record time. Makes you wonder, funny that Dream About Me can finally sprint home fast now, a few starts back at Addington just battled.
  14. Look, i know your views barry. But i am looking at it from another angle. Many huge punters from overseas only bet on certain tracks, a track that gets used every week, jockeys, trainers and horses where form is easier to read. That is the reason they have huge pools, big punters find it easier to punt on, more favs win, so more turnover. In nz we have crap tracks, average horses, some below average jockeys and horse racing turnover is tumbling. So, that tells everybody that you are in the minority, most see its in total decline. Yes, outsiders will always win, but many only win in nz, because some fukwit jockey riding favoured runners stuffs up. You yourself state that you dont like betting on favs in aus, but there is a reason they do win, and its usually great tracks and great jockeys.
  15. Amazing that on tote div she pays recently has been $1 back. Yet, usually paying $1-08 or more fixed odds before race.
  16. As per normal, its a circus
  17. Maybe he doesnt like Mick, which i can understand. But as you say, for connections maybe he should have said something. Well done the trainer, I remember Jeremy running the Punters bar in chch late 90s.
  18. Well done the lads today. Spent $10k, first bet won, 2nd one lost. These guys are an exciting bunch.
  19. Didnt see after race, did he snub mick?
  20. Yeah, sorry. Just noticed thread i started was wrong, should have been Sniper, commenting on last nights run
  21. Sniper. Not bitter mate, just the truth.
  22. Come on boys, private message me a bit more info, im not good at the crptic stuff??
  23. DD?
  24. Not my money talking, just looks bad. I know, horse went rough around turn, but as soon as jessie dictated slow pace, always going to find it tough to sprint up. Sniper is a great stayer, my main point, if the money was up today, i am sure from the draw, would have kept front, or if it did give lead away, would be to a stablemate that would set strong pace.
  25. Sadly Barry, just because you pick the odd nag at overs means nothing. Most clever punters, want tracks, jockeys and conditions that are essy to follow, if they dont find horses do not run true to form, they do not bet. Just because you put the odd $10 on a $30 winner because it winks at you, just shows where you at
