Was looking forward to that race All day then they didn't broadcast it. that was annoying .. The 3 x Dunn horses all in behind a Telfer favourite. . yes they're hard to beat alright. some of the HOPE horses have competed well at this sort of level at times too. Brodie
6 hours ago, Nowornever said: Lovely bit of mile racing for Brodie on Sunday 😍 Lol. Looked at the fields and Nah! The programmers are seriously deluded if they believe that programming these mile races all over the country are appealing for punters! Lunacy, if they are looking to attract new people to participate! 1
Blackie
Tend to agree a little with that Brodie, think it'll be a case of pick the leader. I think a couple of standing start miles is pushing the boat out a bit, although as they say, there's a winner there somewhere!
Gammalite
A tough ask is some of those mile races . a short race distance for these horses. The key is (for all to have a chance) is to limit the starter number to 10 . And the front line to 6 or 7 off the barrier. So any of those can have a crack for the lead. The last race on Sunday tomorrow at Nelson , the Champion mare ADORE ME's foal has drawn 13 in a 'Oversized' Mile field . virtually no chance barring a miracle . Field size is too many. even handy stable-mate 'Wallflower ' another first day winner for Carter, not much chance drawn 9 in the same race. He's out so wide he'll be covering more ground than the early explorer's 😆. Looks like Brodie is right and the Punters might as well leave that lot alone , and go to the gallops (sadly) 😪
Brodie
Just dies. Kt make a y sense whatsoever to be running standing start miles! Horse only needs to be standing back a little or gets slightly interfered with and you got no chance!!!!!!!! Whoever thinks that they need this mile racing for the good of the industry is seriously lacking something!
Rangatira
Not being a fan of restrictions but in fairness to mere mortals can The Brodster be handicapped 20 points tomorrow?
Brodie
2 hours ago, Rangatira said: Not being a fan of restrictions but in fairness to mere mortals can The Brodster be handicapped 20 points tomorrow? Already severely handicapped Ranga, in more ways than one! Firstly TAB betting restrictions and then how can we be betting into standing start miles? There are a couple I like a bit, but then they are handicapped as well by the ability of the driver, so it looks like a very quiet day!
