I would say the value of Storm Boy is considerably less than $50m now. Now the bind for the owners is do they geld him or not or try and get some decent Grp level form. FOUR CHUCK STEAKS!!!! Balless worth 1/2m.. with balls and exceptional early ratings and built like an outhouse 30M at least with @20 years of stud earnings dangling on the end #giveup

If they wanted to make him into a stallion they would need to target a decent group race somewhere. So not a NZ G1 then?

Who was it Catheryne Bruggeman? I guess they are punting on the tracks being soft...being by Belardo. That won't work at Ellerslie. So @Huey does Paul Moroney belong to a different gang in Matamata? Just curious as you are anti most of them.

As TA major fanboy I can understand you're struggling to get to grips with the 2yo getting beaten , rest assured it will be back and it will pick up some lovely races in the future. So long as it doesn't get in the way of the other million dollar ones.

Chief don't worry that million dollar colt will be back for sure, I'm sure with Opie on it'll win some very credible NZ 2yo race over the summer. You're Fanboy status has never been in question. Chief Stipe
I'm surprised @Huey why you haven't started a Topic on how what you would describe as a battler just made a fair chuck of dosh on the sale of one of their horses. But I guess your support for your battlers is confined to cutting tall poppies to make the paddock level.

It is a case of well bred OZZIE young horses improving the quality of our racing and proving that it does raise the return to those you label battlers (I hate that demeaning term BTW). But I guess you don't want those successes to interfere with your race for mediocrity.

Freda
I think most of us love watching good horses, wherever they come from. I fail to see how local racing would be enriched by having those horses in other hands, or not having them at all. They generate interest because of their price tag and not always their on track performances.

I think the key part of that sentence is they generate interest which must be good for racing.

Are you inferring the playing field isn't level? We have seen many instances of those YOU label battlers winning one way or another in the last couple of weeks but you haven't mentioned them.
