Do many BOAY'ers watch this podcast?

With the most famous surname in the world of horse racing, James Cummings has followed in the footsteps of his iconic Grandfather, Bart. As head trainer at Godolphin and with 50 G1 wins, James continues to carve out his own pages in the history books. This week Bossy, Adam and James chat training techniques, what makes a champion and lessons from his Grandfather.

This is gold. Thanks so much for posting. How do you find these things? I took the time to watch it this arvo while I had trackside on mute to avoid the umms, ahhs and looksies. Again, it makes me very sad to think that we can't produce anything of near similar quality here with respect to interviewing or interviewee skills and knowledge while retaining some humour and good natured banter.

It came up via 'prof algorithm',  I've been trolling through youtube looking up videos on  gambling and punting.  Starting to get to see a interesting vein of videos!

This podcast has some interesting videos, I've been enjoying watching various ones about various old school bookies and big punters!

Another cracker but Bossy should stick to what he knows, not dive into equine nutrition matters and gastric ulcers which he obviously has no clue about. Even Gai went silent in response.

Gastric ulcers are probably the biggest nutritional issue for both horses and their trainers.

Bjorn Baker got done for treating it.

Absolutely, but Bossy blamed pellets which are actually a remedy or mitigation.

It was a long time ago and ranitidine which is legal now.

It was legal then too, I used to use it, there was just a specific withholding on it.  Far too long ago to recall what it was.  But omeprazole has no withholding and is the main drug of choice now.  Some jurisdictions don't allow ranitidine at all but still ok here, but not sure how often its used instead of omeprazole.

There is no withholding on either now. Just the usual 1 clear day requirement. I doubt anyone uses it though since omeprazole is 10x as effective.

I remember one of the greats ( Gai or Bart) rueing the stance taken on anabolic steroids, the use of which was rife years ago.

He or she pointed out that steroids weren't used as a 'go fast'  despite all the popular chat.

But the benefits were that horses would become better 'do-ers' and keep their heads in the feedbin.

I really like them and learn something from them all. Liked his report on the well known Bart one liner about the second opinion and a new one (to me) about opening a shoe shop lol.
