curious
The Pattern committee rules here say: Races for which entry is restricted to horses sold at a particular sale or sales are not eligible for group status. Furthermore, to be granted (R) Listed status, such a race must achieve a standard of quality equivalent to a group race.

Correction. It is black type based on its previous Group standing. Auckland TR, Mufhasa Stakes, from G3 to R(L). This downgrade is more of a mechanical nature given that this race will turn into the high prizemoney slot-race, the NZB Kiwi over 1500m from 2024/25 onwards. Given the non- traditional restricted entry conditions, the NZPC was of the view that this race be accorded R(L) status

And if so, that's embarrassing. How embarrassing to have a horse like Domain Ace in the race. It just got absolutely pumped at Tauranga. Yeah. Will the Canterbury Jockey Club be quickly looking for a replacement? Did anyone else see Tim Mills on track at Tauranga?

I hope they sell tickets to the meeting between Colin Wightman @Transparency and Tim Mills to discuss Pivotal Ten!!!

curious
They locked themselves in to the Guineas placed horses didn't they?
Huey
I think the real question is , why lock in so early?

It does tend to show they don't see themselves representing SI racing, otherwise they would have waited a while and gone for Pivotal. Wasn't that a pure marketing slant? If Domain Ace isn't up to it then surely Rogie will pull the pin? Then they have to find a replacement. There aren't any Guineas place getters available!
