Huey
Top off a great days racing at Trentham, tracked looked amazing also. In fact both venues looked very good, long may that continue through the summer!

There'd be some sore horses off that surface today. But what about this is the Stewards Report? Due to equipment issues, no Photo Finish or Official Timing was available for Races 1 and 3, with the inside Photo Finish camera only being operational for Race 2. Conveniently no timing would hide what the Shute was like.

Yes that is unfortunate and hopefully youre wrong about the sore horses, not sure how they could win though aiming to present a G4 to start the day with. That's not exactly the requirement is it? Race Day Track Preparation Process – Mandatory Requirements Clubs should aim to produce a track with a GOOD rating (i.e. a track with good grass coverage and cushion) for the majority of the race meeting. They should however, [do their best to] avoid a track with a GOOD 2 rating at any time during the race meeting). Track Managers will not be criticised if they have prepared a track in line with this Policy, and, due to elements outside of their control (including the weather), the track is rated softer than GOOD at the time of the first race, especially in the warmer months. Fair enough, but an absolute impossible job they have.

Even if it is impossible that isn't any excuse to post BS track ratings nor not gallop a couple of horses on the track before the meeting. Trentham was hard enough for Craig Grylls to land his Cessna on presumably before race one.

That's a requirement unless impracticable. Otherwise they should lose their meeting funding.

Well if they did gallop before Race 1 why was it still rated a S5? Retrospectively they upgrade to a G4 AFTER race 1! If we can't get this simple stuff right who the F cares about a NZB Kiwi slot race? I guess she'll be right!

Industry, feature, iconic etc. It's essentially a decent fine. They would still get there oncourse betting % as well. If not, how fast do they need to go for it to be so? That's cf. a reported Slow 5 that morning. This definitely deserves more than a slap on the hand from NZTR if they are serious about ensuring clubs meet track preparation requirements. It's a disgrace.
