Half the battle in picking winners is picking what the driver is going to do. 

Race 2 Winton was a perfect point. Interesting that the driver who normally leads at all costs and is well known to whip a horse to get there was content to sit parked when in any other race she would be straight to the front and hard to run down. 

One of the reasons I do not bet in races where there are a number of stablemates running. It is hard to know who is trying and who is not.

Same stable that had a horse rated 63 against lower ratings last meet that burnt itself out, dropped a rating point though.

k green had 5 in that race. the money went on the one that b orange drove and  it was allowed to dictate,with the stablemate and hot favorite driven by k green ,quite happy to be given the harder run in transit by racing parked all the way.

i think shes  very good  for her owners as they will know what to expect i guess,but for punters they are often left wondering.

That race an example of that.

buit as you say.thats what happens when you have a few from the same stable in a race.

Its where harness racing is headed though. everywhere is the same. look at queensland.so often they have races dominated by a couple of stables and its obvious some are just there to assist the other.

Its part of the reason harness racing is in decline everywhere.

some people marvel at the team driving,others are turned off by it big time..

I hope our old mate,forbury wasn't on the favorite that k green drove in that race.Obviously he isn't a fan and has started a couple of threads about her.He may have been, but probably burst a blood vessell and we may only hear from him once he gets out of hospital.

when you read the write up of k greens comments about her 3 wins yesterday,it highlighted why having multiple runners from the same stable is such a negative thing for the sport.

she virtually said,the plan for the winner was always to go forward and lead and that she was pleased to see it relax .

So with her thinking like that,she was never going to make any attempt to take the lead off it with the hot favorite she was driving that was sitting parked.

now i'm not picking on her,all she was doing is what i think nearly all other trainers who had a couple in the race would have done ,if the stable had the money on the on in front,which had been the big market moverr.

so she was just doing what others would have done in the same position.

But it does highlight what nowornever highlighted in his original post,punters betting in races with multiple stable runners,are getting turned off from betting in those races. And turnover is part of what keeps racing going.

A very serious topic then . and one that needs Addressing. 

I'm one of the 'Marvel' at it brigade and in fact love it. Nothing better than having your horse given every chance in a race , By getting some aid from stable-mates this becomes a reality for some horses that otherwise wouldn't of won.

The Fixer winning the NZ Cup, Amazing Dream in the Auckland Cup a couple of examples , but Dunns and Telfers have even used great tactics to effect at times. Ferguson's even did that crazy one one time . 

I asked a galloping bloke one time , why he hated the harness racing so much? , and he said "Mainly because they all seem to be related to each other and you don't know who's looking after who ". 🤔 fair enough I spose.

NZ races are tough enough to win as it is , but if you can go into a race with your horse and 'Get some Cover' or whatever it might be . like Green you are discussing, Mickey House at Manawatu, or how Allstars in Group racing for many years in Sires Stakes and age features (exactly like the current Emma Stewart barn and Grant Dixon barns might in Australia)  and Not be 'Put to the sword' by a stable-mate. well and good . you might just win It !!!
