Believe congrats are due to a cd trainer that bypassed all the red tape and took a club straight to court and won today, shows the rules that forbid this are out dated, this will open a massive can of worms for clubs not taking animal welfare seriously, no need for the riu or the jca,the public court is independent ...more cases will come now

Anything we can read or watch to learn more about this?

Here we go again Mr.Godber.!!

On Friday night  Whiterod and a dubious vet scratched Ask King Jeff with Kennel Cough for god's sake. Whiterod 2 days later has cleared the dog free of Kennel Cough and it  lines up today at Manawatu. How the hell can this happen or is it just another Whiterod / Cole sneaky.? For the vet to confirm Kennel Cough a temperature would need to have been taken and shown elevation. For a dog to have a temperature on Friday night with confirmed Kennel Cough how can it possibly be cleared today. The dog should never have been bought to the track today for the possible safety of other competing dogs and possible spreading. Now that the vets are under your control Mr.Godber  why don't you deal to both the vet and Whiterod and the other vet today who is also the kennel vet for the Cole Kennel.. This is a joke and needs explaining please...

Race 10   PALAMOUNTAINS SCIENTIFIC NUTRITION C3/4 - C3/4 - 520   ASK KING JEFF was a late scratching when found to be suffering from kennel cough when examined by the Vet at kenneling time.

Unbelievably, it ends in the ultimate good result. From a dog that had kennel cough only 3 days ago. Those Vets must have some kind of miracle cure...

So why is it, that on Friday night Jeff was scratch because of kennel cough with a stand-down of 21 days, that it wasn't scratched from todays event immediately at that time?

Ask King Jeff Rule 44.20 from 08 Feb 2019 to 28 Feb 2019

What is the betting analyst busy doing?

I'd be trawling the fixed odds movements VERY closely.... BC... LC... CR... BC (owner)… GW... VET... VET...

Someone made a ton off this one at the expense of the honest others that fund the industry...

What they have done is totally against the rules isn’t it?

If it was stood down on Friday night it would have had to have been taken to the vets either Saturday or Sunday and been vetted and cleared.

There is no way is is allowed to happen on Raceday as it should have already been out of the fields as scratching time is 7.30am.

Some serious please explain needs to be asked.

There have been many many questionable incidents that have been embarrassing for the RIU , but hell this would have to be the ultimate fuck up and shows without any doubt there is corruption within this so-called Racing Integrity Unit .

The Stipendary Stewards and the Vet who were working on the night need to be stood down immediately , this absolutely reeks of corruption  to the core .

This needs to be placed in the hands of the racing minister .

It shows the RIU is out of control

The Minister has his hand on it!!  But he is too slippery to get a hold of..  We need a review , an honest Review...?  The only thing in Control of the original R.I.U. was  Cameron George, and he is on record on T.V. preaching what he was going to do...and never did,!!  and showed our Jockey Ladies his  Integrity.. How low can you go?

Seems a lot of jealousy being exposed tonight. 9_9

Judicial report: ASK KING JEFF which was a late scratching at Wanganui on 08.02.19 when found to be suffering from kennel cough, was represented on 09.02.19. On that occasion, ASK KING JEFF was again examined by the Vet who found no evidence of kennel cough and under Rules 56.5 & 56.6 the original stand down was rescinded and the dog was subsequently cleared to continue with his racing program.

Kennal cough on Friday - Clean bill of health on Saturday... Somebody knew something which we're now uncovering.

It does seem about as likely as my West African online girlfriend (who says she's from France & that's why she has an accent) has a sister that is dying from Cancer & needs more of my money to finally cure her once & for all!

What if the dog had a foreign body stuck in the trachea on the friday, such as sponge rubber from bedding or whatever, and the Vet misdiagnosed it for kennel cousgh at the track.  Then in the next 24 hrs the dog coughs up the offending matter, and all becomes apparent. Just saying a scenario such as that could explain.

Don't dog vets endoscope coughing dogs?

Guess im at a bit off a loss , how can a dog be scratched friday by a track vet and be cleared saturday , surely not many people have access to a track vet on a saturday , and again surely a minimun standdown should be 3 days  , how did the second vet diagnosis it wasnt kennel cough when no labs are open?????

You don't need labs to be open on a Saturday...

It was probably all set up Friday night.. The things that you can seem to do when you win $2m a year in purses...

No, they just press on the adam's apple. Take their temp, which is a crock, because it is normal for a dog to have an elevated temp after travel especially if going to the track, so unless the temp is clearly elevated, then a miss diagnosis is and would be likely. Also, highly unusual for kennel cough to be doing the rounds in the middle of summer. Not making a judgement, but there will be more to this than meets the eye.

So one would presume if Cole was asked to provide evidence to prove this dog was taken to the vet on Saturday he could, not the corrupt Whiterod would ever dare ask......

The scenario happens on a regular basis. Stood down, re-vetted the very next day. Stipe has to be present. So the stipe is at the beck and call of the kennel, any day of the week including weekends. Who pays for that additional service? Do we just ad it to miscellaneous expenses? And is this service extended to all trainers? Like bloody hell it is!

Are there not any rules in place for this , if a trainer were to take it back to a vet within a certain time frame to have it rescinded  you would think that a Stipendary Steward would need to be present but being a different one from race night and the same should apply to the vet , must be different from race night .

Does anything like this happen

No rule broken even though you have to scratch within a specific time frame. The kennel was intent on reversing the stand down as soon as the docket was signed. It reads like the dog was re-vetted on Friday night otherwise a stipe traveled to the re-vetting on the weekend.  The dog should have been swabbed post-race. It was stood down two days before the win. It hadn't won in 13 starts since November. The money was on!

Take a look at the swabs:
Donlon two winners, one a form dog, both swabbed, both ran around 22s. 100%
Walsh four runners, two winners, two placings, two swabbed. 50%
Cole thirty plus runners, seven winners, three swabs. Less than 10% of the total runners.

Yes, I can vouch for the fact that the dog farming kennels get swabbed a fraction of that which is required by small kennels or trainers with less than half a dozen dogs. On a percentage basis, the small or boutique kennel gets hammered just about everytime they have a win, maybe about 50% of winners, whereas the dog farming operations would be lucky to hit 20% of winners to swabs. This was my observations of the process.
