Riverton Race 3 for 20k being the Riverton Trotters Cup!

$836 in the tote pool!

Yep great programming, how on earth can harness continue like this?

A loss of thousands on races like this!!

its ok as its Entains $.

Good payday for the connections. As our now defunct friend TAB said, no better time to get involved, he was a bit different though🤯

Good if you can get it, but unfortunately we know it isnt going to continue with stakes at the level they currently are!

Unless Entain/ TAB/ HRNZ are prepared to come out and state that the stake money will not be significantly be reduced in the next few years??

Well the ones raking it in at present, will just have to readjust their budgets........you are probably right but stop worrying about it.

You are correct in both of what you said lol

Probably no point continuing to comment on how they are operating currently but one day it might dawn on them that Brodie “is totally on the money” or “in the money”

I don’t disagree with you but the pool was about $1300 and I’m sure most people like the Broadster tend to take fixed odds these days (assuming the don’t have heavy restrictions like the Broadster).

Mustve been a bit of last minute $.

waste of time having tote pools with this amount of wagering surely?

Restrictions on some punters and not others is acknowledging that the Bookies do not play fairly when treating individuals differently.

They put up the odds but arent prepared to take the punters on?

You have no restrictions on the tote but agree the pools are small.

No point betting into tote as the pools are so low and divs would be getting money back most of the time or far less than should be.

Agree although if Punters see the Broadster sinking the odds on the Tote they may well be enticed to bet on another runner as it’s odds have blown out. If enough people were to do that then the Broadster may get a reasonable return on the tote but agree it’s not really worth the risk.

this  week they not only have the nelson/addington race failing to get any support,it was only a few weeks ago they were promoting the $100,000 young guns races at auckland and saying how all the reports they had received indicated there would be good numbers lining up in upcoming 2 year old races in january ,because  of the stake money they were prioritisning for the 2 year olds.

so what happened with the 2 year old races they referred to.

young guns heat for  2yo colts and geldings at auckland-7 starters.

young guns heat for 2yo fillies_cancelled due to lack of numbers

addington 2 year old race-cancelled due to lack of numbers.

so why would hrnz put out  all the people they had been talking to had told them they had good numbers for those races.

well,i think we can safely assume, that hrnz people,do what i always say they obviously do,they speak to a couple of stables, the ones with the money, and then they hrnz base everything they say and do around that.

as i say,its like shooting fish in a barrel. Hrnz are just so out of touch with what works. I would say 80% of what they promote as being good ideas, are not.

Have there ever been more out of touch wagering/marketing/programming people in the history of hrnz.

i've no personal axe to grind against whoever they are.I just struggle with understanding how dumb they come across.

i see hrnz will take some comfort that numbers being nominated have increased for this weeks 3 x 2 year old races.

this week they have a total of 10 nominations for the 3 races.

6 in the fillies race at auckland,0 in the colts and geldings race at auckland and 4 for the combined, colts, geldings and fillies race at addington.

things are definitely on the up.

You are wasting your time commenting Galah!

It just falls on deaf ears and they have got plenty of $ to splash around when it isnt their own!

At the end of the day Gamma is probably correct, that the owners and trainers take it while it is being offered!

I still believe that many think that it is going to continue like it currently is, but I can see it going into statutory management in the future due to mismanagement.

With respect anyone with any semblance of business acumen, csn see the writing on the wall but anyway punters need to make hay while they can lol
