TIME FOR CHANGE
A question someone may know answer. When it comes to Trainers 10% winning stake are Te Akau the trainers who employ Jamie and pay him a salary or is Jamie the trainer receiving 10%. Freda
That's an interesting point....whatever the employment conditions are, Jamie still is the one holding the trainer's licence .. so he should be the one to be paid in the first instance - surely? Definitely. Them's the rules. Can't be paid to anyone else. Subject to Rule 505A, NZTR, on behalf of a Club, shall pay to a Trainer a sum of money, being (as set out in Rule 503(2)) 10% of the gross stakes (exclusive of trophies, prizes and the value of any awards or rights)
Fred
Obviously it depends on their own [private] arrangements.
Reefton
That also raises the question of the misleading nature of the continual claims that 'Te Akau' has trained so many winners of a given race(often the 2000 Guineas) 'Te Akau' didn't train them - there were four different trainers involved weren't there(Walker, Bridgman, Autridge and Richards and now Richards alone). I guess it suits the advertising hype but it is blatantly incorrect. 2
Fred
You could add James and Waterhouse to the TA list -but as the owners pay Te Akau stables you could say they are Te Akau trained.

Don't think James or G Waterhouse trained a 2000 Guineas winner for them. So if you are saying they were all Te Akau trained then how come the racebook doesn't just say 'Te Akau Matamata'
mumbles
I'm presuming that the 3 Rogersons have separate barns for their team,so who trains who. Who takes the fall and who takes the glory ?
