Except for Isola Racing Stables beating Boys Get Paid in their respective category. How that happened God only knows.... should have been a stewards enquiry into that result, but good on them. All The Aces
True. That probably is a weird one. I had to look up what Isola Racing Stables was just now. After doing so the word "Bizarre" seems more appropriate. ?
Rusty
Upon hearing the result of that category, I immediately thought of a different word, but also beginning with the letter B.
Freda
I've never heard of them.
Fred
You have probably heard of Moira winning a Cox Plate The last time I was at Isola [30-40 years ago] they had an excellent indoor arena
Freda
Ah - yes, of course I've heard of Moira. Didn't know the stable/complex name however.

Freda
The categories in those awards have seemed to me, to be rather irrelevant - not that I wish to denigrate the winners, that's not my intention - but, sprinter-miler, for example? there's a world of difference between a 1000m specialist and a 1600m one. And how does Melody Belle, grand performer that she is, get that award when she didn't win a Stewards, or a Railway, or a Telegraph ? WFA, for sure, but I don't think there was even a category for that this year. As for the Darci Brahma - Wahid b/s....that had to turn a lot of people off the whole process. Anyway, good on the winners regardless - special mention to Brittany Moore, a very deserving winner of the Strapper award - and also Bill Thurlow, a helluva decent bloke, and good to see credit outside the 'big shots' . All The Aces
Well Freda it is the Sprinter-Miler Award. The last time I looked the Stewards is a G3 race so I fail to see any relevance in picking that race out. Melody Belle won did win the G2 Foxbridge Plate over 1200m and did run a great 3rd in the G1 Railway. She also won four G1 races two at 1400m and two at 1600m. (not to mention a fifth G1 at 2000m) There couldn't be any other outcome in the result, she was an emphatic winner.
Fred
The point is that there are sprinters -milers- middle distance and stayers -not about M B being proficient at various categories, There should be a section for each though I know there are now very few staying races.
