Phoenix Thoroughbreds boss in rort allegations The syndicator of Group I winner Loving Gaby is embroiled in a money-laundering case in the US. Photo: Darryl Sherer Article Author Racenet10:48AM25 November 2019 1 Comments The syndicator of Group I Manikato Stakes winner Loving Gaby faces allegations of setting up the Phoenix Thoroughbreds organisation with stolen money. Phoenix Thoroughbreds founder Amer Abdulaziz Salman was accused in a US court of stealing €100 million in an international cryptocurrency fraud. The Racing Post reported the co-founder of fraudulent crypto-currency OneCoin, Konstantin Ignatov, made the accusation under oath during a trial of US lawyer Mark Scott. Scott was found guilty last week of fraud and laundering more than $US400m for OneCoin founders. Ignatov, who pleaded guilty to his part in the huge scam, co-operated with US authorities, telling them Abdulaziz was one of the organisation’s money-launderers. Ignatov alleged Abdulaziz stole from the operation, which has been likened to a Ponzi scheme, while laundering profits for the rort’s other co-founder Dr Ruja Ignatova. The Racing Post alleges it has seen transcripts of an interview between Scott and FBI agents in which he claimed Phoenix, also a Dubai-based investment fund, was sent $190m. Abdulaziz had publicly said in the past that he created Phoenix Thoroughbreds to provide investors with sustainable return realised through acquisition and breeding of top-quality thoroughbreds". Phoenix Thoroughbreds has grown quickly to own about 300 horses, including breeding stock, with 27 trainers on five continents. While Loving Gaby carries Phoenix Thoroughbreds’ white and orange colours, the operation has a share in Group I Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Exceedance and the handy sprinter Tavisan in Australia. Phoenix Thoroughbreds also raced the triple European Group I winner Advertise as well as Dubai World Cup runner-up Gronkowski.

All The Aces
Still is Murray. Hey, a couple of the older boys here in the Bay recall you at Awapuni when you were doing photographs at the races. Around the time when Ken Lush was doing it they said if you are the same person.
