I cannot believe the McCarthy's have put on 2 of their MAIN opposition drivers on this week for the Miracle Mile.

Alford (driving for Emma Stewart mostly with good horses) and Moran (driving Lochinvar Art to kick McCarthy brains in mostly) ENGAGED to DRIVE??????

They are kidding, Bad enough the Fraudulant 'Belinda' Bit in the training to 'protect' poor Lukey.

Now they slap their stable reinsman in the face with a GIANT wet Fish. poor LEONARD CAIN. been winning heaps of races for them too.

young reinsman Jack Trainer good enough to get a drive . GO Stylish Memphis !!!!! for NZ

and Anthony Butt is Man enough to put his training Partner on the training ticket with him (Sonya Smith) GO Ant's !!!! and Wolf Stride. !!! for NZ

I'll never support McCarthy's again !!!! hope Ego and Orlando run last and second last. don't deserve any better.

Com'on Anthony !!!  Com'on Jack Trainer (for Mark Jones)   run the Quinella !!!!!!!

Unfortunately Expensive Ego will win the M Mile. Will we get a good price if your not betting.

Love that horse but with Moran driving (new driver for it) and Luke on the current Title Holder King of Swing at $1.40.

race is all over. a poor edition of the race actually. (as far as Open Class Group 1 winners goes)

Yes agree without any trans tasman rivalry except the exported horses AND drivers is not a great field. They will probably still run 1.49 and McCarthys will probbly win maybe even trifecter

Spankem after the 2019 win in 1.47.7 could of given them a run for their money for sure.

I was very annoyed reading the driving engagements, as Leonard Cain a good young QLD driver and reliable stable worker for them,  and not given a chance at the big race to help define his career.

In 2013 Mat RUE , the young stable (third string )driver got to drive BABY BLING and won the Miracle Mile. wow!!

What's wrong with Leonard this year?    mean buggers lol......................

I understand where you are coming from being an ex driver but the trainers said they would consult owners re drivers so i take it that the Mc carthys gave the owners the driver options and they [being owners ] picked their own drivers which as the bill payers should be the case.

If that is the case, then I am being a little harsh on McCarthy with my reaction.

Maybe Leonard should of 'Pitched his Case' to the owners a bit better?.

e.g (does lots of trackwork with it, knows the horse inside out, etc. for either Orlando or Ex Ego owners.

I would of had him on in a Heartbeat.

Is actually GOOD IMO if the owners are given a choice of driver. I raced many horses over the years , even partnerships of 3 and 4 have 'disputes' over trainer , driver, where to start horse , etc and it becomes not as much fun unfortunately. (raced my last 2 as sole owner) Trainers USUALLY decide the drivers for the owners is what I found over the years.

I know what you are saying but it is a million dollar race so I think it is a good move to have Alford on board. He is one of the best drivers in the world so makes sense to me.

4 years ago in 2017 Alford drove LennyTheShark (without cover no less) and held off the mighty SMOLDA by 1/2 head and the goat LAZARUS was third. Not many can do that !!!   (beat Lazarus , lol...... )

I'm very into Stable loyalty though , hahahaha

AND REWARD for those behind the scenes staff , that Do so much.

I'm still getting over the Shock from John Dunn (main opponent to ALLSTARs usually) driving ASHLEY LOCAZ in the Interdominion final at Auckland DEC 2019.?   rewarding the opponent ? with big race drive , sucks I reckon.

The great Vinny Knight put on Scott Stewart , Brian Hancock put on Howard James (on their seconds strings) in Interdominion Finals , STABLE Loyalty that gave those 2 unknown drivers the Thrill of a lifetime. !!!  they both WON.

McCarthys did put MAT RUE (unknown driver) on Baby Bling to win Miracle Mile 2013, so that was Nice anyway.
