Jones
Like this concept, a listed race with conditions. Noms for 4 y-o boys looks interesting. Pembroke P, Fabrizio, Warloch, Steel the Show, Dance Time, Double Rocket And the 4 y-o trot Credit Master and Mignight Dash Look forward to seeing the draws & watching these 3 races. 2
Jones
Opps mean 4 y-o + & its pref draw so that will make it interesting. Not sure it should be pref draw … but anyways it is. And its over 2200 not 2700. Most of the mares in mares race nom are South horses 8 of 13 just of note. Still looking forward to these 3 races. Worthwhile Stake Money up for grabs,$40k. So no surprise Southerners keen to venture across The Cook Strait and compete.🤑🤑🤑

And with some from South up or still up makes it more interesting. Oh with it being pref draw, looks like Looee is going to get a handy draw of 2. And has gate speed too. How will those higher rated horses e.g. P Playboy and Dance time etc be driven … ? Makes it for a potential entertaining race 😄 Will class prevail over the top of them, or will it open it up to a lower rated horse to claim victory? In the girls race, FOLKLORE for Jonny Cox super impressive in the breeders at Auckland ,will be jogging this in. MIDNIGHT DASH is trotting super well. Hard to beat him anytime ? let alone with only 7 rivals in the trot. In the boys race, PEMBROOK PLAYBOY brings home the south treble easily ?? , well he does have to go righthanded I spose, which will be new for him , but Southerners have always coped well normally. Playboy 'Rating' is over 100 , way way better than the field here, after his Easter Cup effort 4th against Cullens 3, this is his moment in the spotlight to shine.

Will go for Credit M in the Gems trot, had a nice win last start. So North then in mares Gem a South win, not sure who tho. So heading into the final Gem being 1 a piece North/South. Then final race a Lou quinella hehehe. Lead for Looee, then Fabrizio to come around & take lead as long as he is a good boy, (last Alex campaign he was a naughty boy). R7 looks like an interesting race also with the handicaps 2200.
Jones
Looking at numbers of Southern noms for this Gems meeting shows that full fields can be had at Alex, when you get Southern horses up. Taking a look back & the 20k minimum stake did nothing much to boost numbers, however a $40k stake with the prestige of listed race & aimed at not the top elite who are made up of usually the same-same. BUT with condition, targeting slightly different stables and horses. Perhaps Alex could look at doing something like this a couple of times a year. And/or having a close meeting so while not like Mana day 1 & day 2. But close enough so that those coming across the cook straight have a good stake to go for them a few days later can compete again for the usual Alex stake. Food for thought.

Thinking of the 10-1 on offer for the Midnight Dash - Folklore - Pembrook Playboy treble??? Gem of a price for 3 great Southerners??

Oh I thought I had it with Credit Master, but no, Kings Landing got up & took it with a nice win for the NORTH tehe that counts. 1 - 0 North stride out to lead after race 1 or 3 Gems. Was thinking too without cheating, Looee can race for North tonight, as he actually started his career in North 😄 1

Not to be detered,, Gammalite is always attacking hard, and just when the other drivers thought he was beat, he would cruise on by !!!!!!!!!!! Have to cut to a KING OF SWING - FOLKLORE - PEMBROOK PLAYBOY treble at $5-1 then .
Jones
It 1 all now. 1 North, 1 South. The boys pace to come yikes. So I have Dance Time, Looee, Machs Bac, Warlock. Im taking Warlock & Mach Back, not cheating, but they based in North now + Double Rocket. You have the star of the show in Pembroke P eeeckkk. And hit or miss horse Fabrizio. When he is hit, he is HIT, but when he is miss he is MISS. Lets see … who will be the the victor …

Current score is North 1 1/2 v the South 1/2 . com'on Playboy . you know what to do.

I thought FOLKLORE was in trouble at the 1/2 mile as only had one behind it . It was CHEEZEL !!! how did it win from there ? 4 wide the whole last bend and still kept coming . great effort. Folklore tracked it up to 3rd. But Zac Butcher driving inspired, knew where the Post was. 10/10 drive Zac. from that Horror outside draw.

Cheezel is best if saved for one run at them... she can storm home with that sort of run just like she did tonight. I'm happy, it was a good drive from Maurice McKendry, he put the mare into the race and gave her every chance you can't ask for more than that. I thought she was a good thing tonight as that field weaker than what she has faced lately. It's tough for mares likes her up in the grade having to race against entires and geldings. We need more F&M races for horses like her.

There are a lot of hotties Gamms, Z Butcher, B Williamson, L Whittaker, A Drake, K Blakemore (she is the gal that brings the horses in to scale at Alex), N Rass (even you said Gamms she was a looker in her hey day). B Graham Taupiri has hots for hehehe. There is also a hottie female young South Island gal. I just don’t know her name. Pay compliments when compliments are due! Nothing weird or creepy here. Just calling the hotties out. Wonder if missed anyone. Actually N Hope, she is a hottie too.

You could have beaut mares races , BUT they all leave. Take Havtime for example , a year ago she went to the LADYSHIP stakes at menangle worth 200k . But a heap of great kiwi mares turned up and she got 5th or so . raced rest of year for 70k earnings but back there this year , has to race in FAST CLASS and no wins in 10 starts since going home to Barry and Katrina. to Bettor's Heart 1st , Bettor enforce, Princess Tiffany 3rd, and Belle of Montana 4th. They could of all been still racing in NZ . Tiffany has had great season in Aus. Bettor Enforce sold to USA after 2nd in your group1 breeders to Wainui Creek (who went to WA) Spellbound, Amazing Dream now gone. Plutonium Lady will be next, or Folklore,

Jones
Hehehe do-dah-do-dah-day, Still laughing my good friend Davis at my Stonewall Stable/Telfer future prediction 😉 In 1 swoop the NORTH takes the GEMS 2 to 1. Wow, was not expecting that, BUT will take win. As mentioned prior B Butcher is such a good front running driver in North on his known tracks. Next up, Junior Drive contest North verse South. Watch out South. The North are coming. Taupiri not sure, Ill try to look & find name 😄 2
