Thomass
WTF is it with some people in the industry? So a horse in the last plants it's feet and won't budge... What does silly old Burridge and his crew do? They proceed to kick the horse's pasterns inch by inch until it moves In full view of Trackside cameras FFS Maybe the Integrity Committee of NZTR and ignorant old Bernie need to bang heads at the 'new' RIB.... Issue a War Dispatch 'Any f'er who kicks, encourages any harm whatsoever, including Racist rants...will be sacked forthwith' Or have their Licence to operate withdrawn...Just like a Jockey does for interference After all...what's worse..Inteference and 5 days plus fine....or kicking a horses pasterns... ...for no reprimand?

No problem with that Mr.T . All the attendants have to do is refuse to load any horse that cannot lead directly into the stalls . It’s not their problem to educate horses at the barriers . I do think you did miss one of the attendants hobbling away to the other side of the stalls maybe he got stood on or kicked.
nomates
You would be amazed at the amount of people that think it is the job of the gates boys to teach horses to load properly at the jumpouts and trials , been watching it for years where horses have done nothing more than walk thru the barriers before going to a jumpout or trial . Done some work behind the gates years ago , it's an eye opener .

Let me tell you now, there's NEVER a reason to kick a horse under race day control... Im sure these blokes will be doing far worse when the cameras are off though J K B Ridell kicked a horse in the head a few years back at the same course...got charged These blokes are going to get a serious bollocking as well... Yes they put their bodies on the line to help trainers/ owners but there's clear animal welfare rules and you're bonkers if you think it's ok to kick pasterns The buggy Whip is allowed to sting their heels...that's all
Chief Stipe
@Thomasshave you filed an information with the RIU?

No...but I have with the RIB The problem is Oatham doesn't think ahead and send general missives out to the particular sector groups when shockers like this occur When the SI crew set ethe Barriers at the wrong distance.... Oatham should have sent a general missive out to ALL Track Managers to check distances wrt different rail positions What happened? 3 weeks later EXACTLY the same thing occurred and a horse was injured when they realised the stalls where in the wrong place again Again same with the maniac Reefton Vet who failed to inspect Reefers horse properly and allowed a bleeding horse with "lacerations" to start...

Well instead of going on and on about these things that often date back 20 years or more why don't you hammer the RIU/RIB and NZTR? Preferably BEFORE you go public and publicise to every work do-gooder!

Preferably BEFORE you go public and publicise to every work do-gooder! Well of course I do... I NEED the Thoroughbred Industry to succeed Suits like Oatham don't really care about it like some of us... Its a job..and in Oathams case job with TRAVEL Boy does he f in TRAVEL..... Telly up his air fares for a season and you could pre race EVERY drug addled Jockey like Waddell for a season.... ..even pre race test a single horse every race day as well... ?..even out of competition testing...wtf knows if they even do that? One things for sure...if HQ get to have 100k averages.... Oatham's lassez fear strategy wrt INTEGRITY has got to change 1 1
