The Centaur
Rather intriguing article. Anyone have experience? https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/447774/nzta-manual-change-causes-headaches-for-horse-truck-and-motorhome-owners
nomates
Bureaucrats sitting in darkened rooms that know SFA about the issue are making these decisions . I was told at my last warrant on my old ute that has basically passed every warrant for the passed 10 years bar the usual wear and tear , will fail until i get a rear tail light cover without the crack that it presently has , doesn't leak , which is the standard for fitness , but the mechanics at the testing station are pulling their hair out . They have told the suits that it is not a safety issue , but the suits won't listen . It's the bureaucracy trying to get older , even safer , vehicles off the road . I cannot for the life of me get a replacement part , same when i had to get a new steering wheel , 30yr old ute , now got a little sport steering wheel . Chief Stipe
I didn't know that if you had indicator lights on your wing mirrors then regardless of if you had front and rear indicator lights in the normal position the side mirrors had to work. A friend of mine has a Jeep which failed a warrant because the wing mirror lights weren't working. LOL you can't easily replace the LED strips inside so you have to buy a whole new wing mirror. A replacement costs $3,000!
Shad
Interesting I know a friend that failed his first warrant, after having a factory one when sold from brand new, something to do with a couple of extra side lights that came with the vehicle, so drove a brand new vehicle with a current warrant that was not legal, crazy but true, had to disconnect them to pass.
