Officials punting

Now this isnt an attack at anyone but i think the case against Danny Laing needs to be looked at because the rules around this subject are very poorly worded. If you read the rules, every licensed person in greyhounds punting is breaking the rules of racing

Hey, i have known starters, judges, betting all the time, nothing new here, i won't name names because it is historical, and i'm not a nark, but let me assure you it was common. Now that the idiot unit are under the cooker, poor old Danny has become the sacrificial lamb. Feel very sorry for him, as i'm quiet sure he was not doing it for corrupt purpose's. But in every dark cloud there is a silver lining, and in his case I'm picking Greyhound racing has no future with this minister of sports[the only sports he,she knows is in the closet] Robertson, and the evil worthless Chloe whatever from the insane greens, then come August 1st when the report is due in, Greyhound racing will be finished. Chloe whatever is drafting the end game as i write with a bill to go before Parliament as soon as possible to finish it altogether. I really fear what these rats will do to a beautiful and noble sport that is Greyhound racing.

This saga isn't over & fair enough.

GENERAL:

1). The Racing Integrity Board has received an Appeal from Licensed Starter Mr Daniel Laing in regards to the penalty imposed on him by the Adjudicative Committee dated 26th July 2021. Mr Laing also applied for a stay in proceedings in relation to his disqualification. The Appeals Tribunal granted Mr Laing a partial Stay of Proceedings with the condition being set that he not start any greyhound races.

Here is a question for those of you who are  Keyboard Historians

How was the Manawatu Hare Driver treated when he was caught betting. ?

Did he have the chance of using options to "support" his case.

Surely his offence was more likely to influence a result than a starter could.

This one? - http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/non-raceday-inquiry-tr-pilcher-decision-dated-30-may-2011/

The appeal to that case may well be worth a read for Danny. - http://www.jca.org.nz/non-race-day-hearings/appeal-mr-t-pilcher-decision-dated-13-july-2011/

Seems the lure driver in that instance had been spoken to on more than one occasion previously prior to being charged. Surely that sets a precedent for an official betting on a race they were directly in charge of running.

[5] Mr Whiterod, the stipendiary steward who appeared for the respondent at the non-race day hearing, said that over the last 2 or 3 years it had been reported to the stewards that Mr Pilcher might have been betting whilst working in his official capacity as the lure driver at greyhound meetings. He said Mr Pilcher had been spoken to on more than one occasion by the stewards and reminded of his obligations not to bet whilst working at a race meeting.

That's all you should need Danny, go get em young man!

Gavin seems to agree with you in the initial decision.

19 Mr Whiterod said this was a very serious charge that struck at the heart of the integrity of racing. He said in his opinion the lure driver, more than any other raceday official, was in a position to influence the outcome of a race by the way the lure was driven although he also said that in the discussions he had with Mr Pilcher over the years about his lure driving he had not seen any instances when Mr Pilcher’s driving of the lure was not correct. Mr Whiterod said that he kept records relating to the speed of the lure during the run up to box in order to answer questions that he might receive from owners, trainer and/or members of the public about the driving of the lure during a particular race.

Nothing fair in this game cole has 28 of 63 runners  9 wins 3 swabs     👀come on 🧑‍✈️

Has any trainer ever won all races on a card? A great feat by anyone. Still less than half the runners on the card yet managed to win them all.

It will not be a great feat, but rather a travesty for the game, and when it happens it will mark a dark day in greyhound racing.

I agree it is becoming very dark. I feel for the Central Districts trainers trying to make ends meet.  Cole had 16 of their dogs placed in the top 3 out of the 27 possible top 3 placings and winning all 9 races. So that's 11 cheques left for the remainder of owners/trainers. Great for one kennel, miserable for the rest....
