Auckland Miles! Yawn! Turnover abysmal!

When is Auckland going to learn that most punters do not want to punt on mile races!!

You only need to look at the tote pools tonight once again and the racing is a big loser as they ate abysmal pool amounts!

The racing is a yawn as well as they just wait till the straight to make any sort of move!

Each to their own but seriously deluded club, if they think it is worth continuing with this distance!!

Brodie you don't seem to be very positive about things,I was actually thinking today what effect the Olympics are having on turnover, interest etc etc, haven't even looked at fields for Auckland, flicked over to trackside  from 1  before, they were just pulling up at Alexandra Park then went over to greyhounds somewhere,so I just turned it back to one.

im actually pretty bored with a lot of harness at the moment.

only got as far as checking results from invers today,I do have to work too.

Mikey, it is about stating our thoughts and then discussing the merits or non merits!

Harness racing to survive requires people that make the correct decisions or it is doomed!

Mile harness racing is boring in the main, does not attract much wagering and does nothing to attract nee people to the sport!

The Dickhead who continues to program mile racing at Alexandra Park is clueless if he thinks he has a winning formula by racing over a mile!!!!!
The turnover being achieved at Alexandra Park just does not warrant the larger stakes that are being offered!!!

It is high time that better decisions are being made before the truth comes out!

No point soft soaping fact Mikey, and yes the Olympics are great to watch but hard to keep up with all the events.

Some of that cycling was a bit of a hard watch, round and round and round,,I do find harness racing from Auckland pretty hard to get excited about, the meetings there are no better than those Thursday night meetings Forbury park were becoming noted for,see where they ended up.

Just been reading about the number of horses that have been sold recently, the whole industry has got issues but the northern region seems the area with the biggest challenges.

The issue with Auckland racing is that it does not warrant the bigger stakes that it has!

However if the stakes dropped then there would be even less owners and less horses and then racing would fold up there!

Catch 22 here and yes the racing in Auckland is such a yawn!

Brodie I don't know how old you arie, probably similar to me,I but as I get older I'm convinced that just about everything in life is declining very quickly despite all the bunch of fucking know alls coming through the ranks.

That song Phil Collins sung,The land of confusion, some of the words ,so true.

Personally speaking my life is not declining, quite the opposite!

You are correct many things are going backwards due to the crazy socialist lefties!

Swarbrick and the loonies wanting to close down greyhound racing  FFS!

Greyhounds love to race, if greyhound racing is banned then that dog breed is gone!!!!!!

Some of you guys want to try farming.,bigger farms, bigger problems then all the know alls in white vehicles telling every fucker how to do it,cant do it themselves but they tell others.

Just looking at the front page of a farming magazine at a tractor under water in the flood, dont look to swimmable to me,the water that is.

You've got that bug in your bonnet alongside the mile racing mate. Telfer, Herlihy, Purdon, Hughes, Hackett all winning at Auckland last night. And all Very accomplished horsepeople. What is the problem FFS?

Haven't seen any punters myself ,saying "oooh thats a mile race , I'm not betting on that , I want 2500m to ease my mind " lol.......

The shorter races are commonplace USA and Australia as Horses recovery is better , makes it easier for the Trainers mate ! and the drivers !  sorry if you think punters can't get a bet on. not correct IMO.

They Can't all drive and win every near 2 mile race going like Mark and Allstars horses did. ?? Imagine how flat your horse would be after a couple of goes at that.? Tiger Tara at his peak, even found that out.

Just to add to that comment,if we are really serious about having pristine water then the only way is to simply stop farming, sounds fanciful but in reality you can't change the fact that it rains ,it won't matter what farmers do they will always come in for critics more,in sometimes maybe justified but human pollution will always be the number one problem because the actions of humans creates every situation.

Not sure what's it's got to do with racing lol but hey shit happens.

The advantage of one mile racing is that the action is short....and that means you don't miss too much of the action, the tactics, the psychological challenges of the women's beach volleyball😀

I would of gone women's soccer penalty shoot-out as a Brilliant Psychological 'Win' Ludwig. was quite amusing.

Overnight, the womens Gold medal match and Sweden (who unfortunately knocked Matildas out )  v Canada and went to Penalty shoot-out, at the end , after scores tied during regular time.

The Canadian goalie Labbe',  absolutely 'Psyched out ' her Swedish opponents as they stepped up for their attempts at a penalty goal. she was Right in their face. jumping around on the line. staring em' down. she did the lot . and they missed 3-4 shots accordingly !!!  quite extraordinary.
