Dougie
Couple of things, so under L4 no fast work was allowed, would any trainers with private tracks have worked their horses? From a punting point of view can we back certain trainers tomorrow or Friday with more confidence? Do the Williamsons train on the track at Oamaru or at home?? I'm not 100% up to date with the restrictions but have read a few things.... but for me it seems odd that both Williamson lads can travel to Invercargill to drive which is twice the distance to Ashburton where they can't drive on Sunday nor Addington Friday. Dennis O'Connell, no chance he's allowed to train on the beach or on the track at his location... his horses are used to racing once if not twice a week..... are they no chance after two weeks of no fast work or racing? Robalan
I think that the request for only light training of horses was observed more in the breach than the practice

Yes, light work only could be a problem for some horses but for others it could work the oracle. Some trainers overwork their horses, while other horses seem to race twice a week every week, so this period will be like a spell to those horses. I think horses should race better because of this. It is an opportunity to get some good odds if you can sort out these horses. Maybe pay more attention to F90 etc data?

Who would have policed it? The RIU? They don't have enough people to hide in all the hedges and I doubt the budget runs to remote controlled drones. They wouldn't be able to recognise fast work from slow work anway especially if you worked unhoppled. MPI? Given some of the utterances and regulations that have been forthcoming from them I doubt they know which end of a harness horse is which even with a sulky on. As for determining fast work hell they murdered millions of oysters on a false positive! Still working on eliminating Bovis from their virtual offices at home. The Police? Nah - once bitten twice shy as they are still smarting over getting conned into INCA. Anyway they are all busy on South Auckland border control. The Snitch? Possibly but then would have to explain that travelling for snitching purposes was an "essential service"!
Gammalite
Hey NZ is racing !!! off they go at Invercargill. Looking for a winner , but only came across PETES DASH in R9 with Dennis actually driving himself on this occasion, to get the job done. Looking at Dennis O'Connells training record , (I don't know him , but is mentioned Boay often) well he is getting better results every year. !!!! now in 8th season preparing runners , and here's the figures. 2014: 0 from 42, 2015: 1 win from 53, 2016: 0 / 11 starters, 2017: 3 / 56, 2018: 5 / 98, 2019: 5 / 119, 2020: 4 / 102 , and 2021: Dennis has 13 winners from 182 starters !! so a real break-out season. Best of luck today with Petes Dash (2 wins from 50 for Dennis ) persistancy pays in the end. The BOAY stable should get togeather , and have a crack too.!!! what a stable circus it would be lol.... Chief Stipe is in the hedge keeping RIU look-out duty, Gammalite hammering the sign on the gate saying 'BOAY Allstars2 revived" send us your horse! lol...... Karrots at the gate begging us to train her Sweet Lou fillies ! lol. Davis and the Galah at the TAB getting the bets on (and winning by backing anything else than Allstars2 runners. Ranga on the trackwork as knows a good horse or 2 , JJ Flash on the phone (ratting out the Chief in the bushes to the RIU) , and BRODIE with his brand new filly , that he picked up for $100 at a dispersal sale as doesn't want to spend too much , (and he fondly named her JACINDA to race) How hard will he work her ? winners all round
