Ludwig
So the decision has been made that Dunedin gets no new harness venue. No plans to move in at wingatui, no plans for a new venue. But with most of the chattels sold, and still the land and buildings to be sold, we are talking big money. Who's going to get the money? Try reading through all the waffle and good intentions, my cynical nature smells something rotten.
mikeynz
Seems simple to me, as long as there is a Forbury club they would keep the money, even if they become a one day a year club. Other clubs sell land to put themselves in a better financial position, same applies here. Edited January 8, 2022 by mikeynz
Doomed
There should be a lot more interest in this. If the money is all taken in some socialist heist to help fund Addington and Alex Park it will set a nasty precedent for all other clubs in both horse codes. If the Forbury Park club get to keep the money and run a $100,000 Dunedin Cup at Wingatui or Waikouaiti each year other clubs might think the centralisation concept could work after-all.

I know if you do a bit of homework you will find Addington is far from being the big bad wolf when it comes to funding and return on industry dollar. Country clubs do an outstanding job generating income for our industry and not only that community buy in ,so yes there are clubs punching under their weight but Addington certainly isn't one of them. 1
mikeynz
Forbury are paying $9000 stakes at their meeting coming up at Wyndham, if they sell their land and keep the money they might be able to pay $90000 instead😄
