barryb
I am just sitting down tonight watching The First Call and there tipping stats just came up, my wife perks up and says "why the fark are we listening to these clowns when they cant make a cent themselves" hard to argue with her. I told her about a complete farkstick named Thomass on this site who dreams up all sorts of unquantifiable crap and she said to me is he farking dumb, hard to argue with her. I also watched it last night and although the presentation is pretty good and the you get a bit of industry info throughout the show its probably a complete waste of time, youre not going to make a profit in the winter taking $3 shots most races its as simple as that. The show may be better morphed into a Weigh IN style show or something, it desperately needs some character and humour in it, bringing Stu Laing in off the bench isn't funny especially when he is the best tipster of the lot! Weasel
As always the Aussie racing progs show us how to do it. Good analysis, and a bit of banter that doesn't get out of hand cf ego-driven humour; in-jokes; talking/laughing over the top of one another; and mumbly-stumbyl-bumbly delivery.
Thomass
We just can't do humour I'm afraid... Tan and Rodley are as dry as a dead dingos donga...and that's not the fun dry ...they're that dry they should have been Nuns in fact...Stu's the same A great tipster who should be on instead of Matt...who knows sfa about thoroughbred punting to be fair...just out of nappies Get one of The Boys Get Paid on and throw a few blokes f's around...ffs

If these Aussies you lot worship are so good(and they are very polished to be fair) surely they would be professional punters not tipping to everyone else for a living? Thomass
Just watch 'Get On' and listen to 'Gator'...he's your man As for Matty...take a look at his efforts in the tipping comp...he's well into the negative...borrowing off the imaginary bank Hes really a Twots man...good all rounder at calling and very talented presenter.... But he's far too young and lacking any semblance of thoroughbred tipping knowledge to be on this show Stu has that in buckets...tipping beyond the square...and he is to be fear... Matts good for the girls...but that's not what the show is about Have a look at 'Punters 'Intel' too...excellent modern day thoroughbred punting knowledge

I believe it would be fair to say, few so called “analysts” can actually dicipher form. I’ve had an instance recently whereI needed to check form on a particular race. The difference in the analysis between the Kiwi TAB and the Aussie corporates was as if they were looking at two different races.....just absurd. I reiterate - if they are that good how come they aren't doing it for themselves and making a fortune out of us mugs? (and I am happy to admit I am a mug punter - don't spend enough time on study , let stable bias into it and do not pay enough attention especially at this time of year)
Rowley Mile
The Corps certainly are Reefton, that's the huge difference. I note TAB.COM.AU with it's commingling has very poor form analysis of NZ races, they seem to cut and paste, however the two leading corps here do absolute thorough research and analysis and yet the turnover and interest on Kiwi racing is negligible. That's a major worry of mine, the faith the boffins at NZRB have put into the race fields legislation is misplaced and the public are being mislead, it will end in tears Reefton, tears. Many analysts here are also punters, it's not hidden, in fact it's promoted, people like Ron Dufficy an icon amongst punters here is a leading form analyst and makes no secret of the fact he goes the punt......what I witnessed with your First Call program that goes to air here at 7am Saturdays has a viewing audience equal to a man and his dog, however I would hate to have to hang my hat on the tips provided by your panelists!.....my God they are hopeless, and paid to tip as well......oh my, handwringing and wrinkled brow...... Thomass
To be fear our boys Tan and Rodders are now tabulating their bets and have a profit loss table Both Tan and Rodders are trumpeting their profits in the last 10 weeks... land the doyen here Stu....who got the DCM when pretty boy Matt got inserted... ..is leading the profit table Lets face it NZ is very difficult punting on our bogs made harder by the governing body...NZTR...who won't provide accurate INFORMATION track descriptions out by 50L for example...on 2 H11's Pen readings taken to 4.5M when they're on the 6M strip from the start of the day No change of tactic requirements as required by our punting competitors Arse... b/s info like that
Poisoned Dwarf
Hey Tompax, God never decreed that we had to bet on bog tracks. It's your choice he said in Bart p47, v3 which is the book after Tommy ( Smith )
Thomass
Too true you toxic wee stinker... Accepted but the last thing I would do is listen to any TV commentator's views regardless. I can(and do) lose my money on my own without help from those mugs(whether they be Dufficy or whoever)
