She's a great mare ,but time will catch up with her and the Arc looks like a mountain too big to climb imo.

Based on her clashes with Addeyeb,I can't see her matching the elite level of the Arc field.

Be happy to be proven wrong.

This looks like a sad outcome for the horse, from what I've read many are unhappy with this happening to her.

The breeder and original owners of Verry Elleegant are to sell their 20 per cent share in the champion mare following confirmation she is to be transferred to France to be prepared for a European campaign.

“We’re not happy and we will be looking to sell out of the mare unfortunately,” co-owner Nick Bishara said on Friday morning.

“The Ellee syndicate was never in favour of going to Europe, basically on the back of what Chris (Waller) felt - that she’s probably got one more prep in her and to go half way around the world might be a risk if she doesn’t come up.

Does seem a tough ask as she gets late on in her career.

Fellow mares Black Caviar and Miss Andretti did the UK trip but as fine Sprinters they could strut their stuff and win there with natural raw ability (as Sprinters so often do ) whereas Verry Elleegant has a lot of tuning and luck needed for the longer distance contests, making the task a whole lot harder.

Is very sad the original owners are 'getting out' instead of biting the bullet and going with the ownership majority decision. The Best way to handle the 'requests ' of large ownership groups is by ballot and majority rules. just have to suck it up if minority request, or buy into them (horses) with less partners. Even racing with 3 others in quarter shares has 'issues' . People always want different things like favourite courses, distances , jockeys (even trainers get discussed vigourously at times) Everyone is different.

Overall though , Bless the horse that she stays safe and runs well , esp. with VE being a magnificent Melbourne Cup Winner . What a ripper she is.

How has he poached horses?

Owners flock to successful trainers.

He once contacted me to try and get my horse moved from another trainer to his stable and Im definitely not the only one.

Does that answer your question?
