Not a major, but I notice that Stunin Love in the last race at Oamaru today is down as being a 4 year old e!

An e stands for an entire which means he isn’t two stones lighter!

They used to always call the male horses over 3 years of age horses if they hadn’t been gelded!

Has this now changed or is there something I am not aware of?

justa saying brodster

Normally the stallions are called horses on the harness info but just wondered why every now and again they  have one as an entire?

Not a major but you would think that they should get rid of one or the other?

Suppose it is better to be an entire rather than a rig!

Kotare, I keep scrolling and I don’t seem to be able to find the answer!!

What is your answer, if you have one?

oh god. 'entire' is a universally-accepted term for an ungelded older male horse. Why is this even a thread?

Why is it a thread?

Because the TAB had Stunin Luck down as an ENTIRE!!!!!!!!

Why isn’t he registered as a HORSE then if that is the NORM????????

Surely it should be one or the other if they are BOTH THE SAME!!!!

hrnz as the governing body handle the registration of horses not the tab so stunin love is registered as a horse as its a non gelded male 4 years plus another term for a 4yo plus male horse is an entire

as pointed out a couple of times previously the tab have chosen to use the term entire while hrnz have it down as a horse

hopefully this clears things up for you but if not please feel free to ask questions or hurl more abuse

bit like fines with the stipes

Fines have extenuating circumstances surrounding them so are more variable. Whether they are a horse or entire seems a straight choice.
