nomates Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 With the quick success of Warren Kennedy and Craig Zackey since they arrived in NZ from South Africa and now 2 younger apprentices having arrived to join the apprentices school at Byerley Park , i thought perhaps we should looking to be promoting our racing to more of these guys . From what i've seen of both WK and CZ they are class riders , which their records in SA show . Having them here promotes competition and hopefully makes our locals lift their game , which is never a bad thing . Our local stocks are thin and for a number of years we have been bringing in jockeys from Asia , which IMO has been a middling to poor success , and in a lot a cases some simply shouldn't be riding , so why not look to try and lure more from SA , and perhaps even places like South America , Ireland and UK . We have a lot to offer aside from the racing side of things which must appeal to many , i will play devil's advocate and suggest that racing can improve and get stronger which must also have pulling power . Anyway just some thoughts . p.s. A big thankyou should go out to the the guys at Byerley for being so proactive , unfortunately they shouldn't have had to , this is yet another NZTR role that has slipped thru their hands . 3 Quote
holy ravioli Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Yes a stint in NZ should be a great prep before they leave to make some real money in...Oz. It would not take a rider with ability too long to figure it..out. Quote

Agree, Tina C could have made a killing here, she'd own a block of flats by now, maybe 3, but it's the lifestyle she loves apparently, ahh. there had to be someone...... 1 Quote
