Joe Bloggs
That's about the only way to describe todays race day at Gold Coast Turf Club's shiny new toy AKA the polytrack. Fuckwitsm is not exclusive to NZ, OH no, it's alive and well here in QLD too. One race deleted, no each way betting in most of the card due to scr or insufficient acceptors. I don't blame Steve Andrews, he's been crook, but Lines and his lackies are hopeless and shouldn't be anywhere near running a race club. This will only get worse, some local trainers will experiment to see which of their horses handle the crap track, they have to I suppose, they are now held prisoners, much the same as Riccarton and Awapuni trainers are.......pale stale males and wannabe stove pipe suit wearing upstarts from dotcoms, all about to fuck a wonderful training centre and community.... The upheaval from the works oncourse will now reach a crescendo and owners will cringe as their lovely horse flesh has to be dragged up to a goat track at Beaudesert to gallop....no grass tracks here thanks very much. So here's to the brave souls that venture to todays dirge/novelty/wake call it what you will, but it is an indication of what's to come, a year at least before the grass comes back if it does, so we shall watch with interest to see if the Sunshine Coast trainers with experience and horses that handle kickback and shifting surfaces prop up this folly with future noms and acceptances. Just saying... Joe.

Joe Bloggs
The kickback is atrocious .........who the hell would bet on this track?.......better to buy scr lotto....
Doomed
I just watched a race out of interest. Half handled it, half didn't. 5 of each I think. It appeared the jockeys on those not handling it just give up. Still, I would probably rather bet there than at Moonee Valley. My god that is a shocking track, probably a shorter straight than anything we have in NZ.
Joe Bloggs
Ahh, c'mon Doomed, don't knock my Valley. love the place, just the place to be......even when they had the old surface pre strathayr.

And as I understand it the plan is to redevelop it and make it even smaller.

Joe Bloggs
Beaudesert is an hour away on a good day, early mornings, bugger of a road at that hour, wild life everywhere, freeway to Ballina hour and a half, same to E/Farm Doomben, Beaudesert is part of the GCTC alliance with huge AQUIS sponsorship so no probs with permission........
