I wouldn't rank him that highly for a number reasons. You've missed a few - Jimmy Cassidy, Lance O'Sullivan, Opie, CWJ, Shane Dye..... He could ride but he wasn't a horseman. Under today's rules he would have been out for some time after hitting my best horse on the head with his whip behind the starting stalls. She responded by throwing him. No other jockey in 50 starts had a problem. 1 Quote

Interesting to reflect on the family connections that pervade our sport The 3 Cassidy brothers Shane's grandfather a capable rider Lance's farther a jockey and top trainer as was his brother and grandfarther J MAC'S dad a capable rider -=as was Opie;s god father I don't know re CWJ or M Walker Quote

I recall a rather aged and worn Yeman [then trained by Irvine Tucker] in the Chalmers , 2 miles at Trenthan A line of horses across the track and Bill sitting quiet as a mouse until the last few strides then action -he appeared to pick the horse up and throw it across the line in first place One of the greats 1 Quote
