Freda
Seems unusual to me. However, practically speaking, Friday back to Wednesday probably simplifies things as Oamaru is on the following Sunday.

And we only have one such club and its not the CJC.

It's not a subject I know much about, but I do know that matiriki can float all over the place throughout the winter, its worse than Easter. I have no idea how far in advance they know where it will fall in a given year.

I have no idea how far in advance they know where it will fall in a given year. Both are related to stellar and planetary alignment. Easter Sunday is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring (northern hemisphere) equinox. Matariki is the Maori name for the constellation named Pleiades. The Matariki celebration is timed to coincide with the re-emergence of Pleiades which like Easter can vary. I think it is the first Friday after.
Special Agent
Have you noticed that nobody anywhere (not just racing) can put out a schedule or programme first bang without errors? People of today cannot spell, have bad grammar and cannot proof read any detail. It used to drive me nuts. After a while you start to relent and slip into the comfort of "who cares" about a few mistakes. Gone are the days of a sharp blow over the knuckles for not listening or concentrating.

Wait a minute, you expect NZTR would know that without being told by someone?
