RACE 1 CAMBRIDGE result.   placings >>>> 1-10-14-2

They hit the line in the Handicap trot and THE GALAH is off to a flyer with another Quinella and Peter Ferguson not as rough as guessed, by knocking off the Iceman and taking out race 1. The Galah racks up 14 points !!!

NoworNever with the Partnered training Combo on the winner too, is off the mark.

Mikey Nz picks up 2nd  with AGH  doing the job for him and 6 points scored.

Chief Stipe and Ranga trot off the 25m handicap into 3rd spot and pick up 4 points each.

Blackie 2 pts with Zac running 4th.

BOAY Cambridge Challenge points (after 1 race)

The Galah  14pts,       NoworNever  8pts,        Mikey  6 pts,       Chief 4pts,       Ranga 4pts,

RACE 2 Cambridge Grin night.  placings  1-2-9-8

BRODIE proves his mettle already  by matching the Galah 's first race effort by bringing up a very nice Quinella. His       Ray Green horse taking victory late off the junior Delaney and grabbing 14 points for Brodster 💰

Mikey also with the winner (being a Green one in Onyx Shard) and AGH horse 4th so 10 points scored !! nice.....

NoworNever with 6pts for partnered trainers running 2nd, Blackie had a Butcher (David this time) 3rd, and Galah AGH 'Fury' horse got him 2 points for finishing 4th.

BOAY Cambridge Challenge points (after 2 races)

The Galah  16 points,     Mikey 16 points,     Brodie 14 points,     NoworNever  14 pts,       Blackie 6 points,

Race 3 Cambridge the Handicap trot result . Placings >>>  7 - 8 - 10 - 9

The Galah and Brodster with a Quinella each first 2 races , But Gammalite Trots up boldly with the All girls TRIFECTA in race 3 to say "What's Doing Boys ?" up on the Leader board 😂💰. and with Nicki Chilcott also training the 2nd horse bags a handy 24 points !

Blackie and Ranga are supporting the Lady drivers too , so a nice Trifecta each with Ranga adding on 6 points for the 3rd and 4th runners coming in off long handicaps. a well earned 24 point haul for Ranga .

NoworNever has 3 Partner trained horses in the money with Bernie and Michelle training 2 of them . 14 points gained and is the New Leader !!  Bernie's daughter Crystal gets Brodster some junior points too.

They hit the line in the 6th Race . Just 2 to go . placings >> 9 - 1 - 11 - 2

Brodie and Mikey are 'on the money' with  Ray Green 1st and 4th with his 2 runners. So pick up a cool 10 points each.

But another NEW LEADER as Blackie rolls up the sleeves and punches David and Zac Butcher home into 2nd and 4th place in that race.

NoworNever not far away either,  as the one and only Partner trained horse in the race  The 'Jaffa' for the Teaz family runs 2nd and gets him 6 points !!

BOAY Cambridge Challenge points (after 6 races)

Blackie 46 points,   NoworNever 40 points,   Ranga 38 points,      Gammalite 36 points ,    Brodie 32 pts,

Now we're Talking !! a BIG Aussie win in the flying mile trot !! wahoo 😁. (Too short to back though)

ANyway it's Chief up and home on the Aussie 'Aldebaran Zeus' for 8 points in that one ...

Nicky Chilcott does Gamma a favour with a big run from the rank outsider in 3rd spot , so 8 points too. and Blackie too , who gets another 4 points 3rd.

Tony Herlihy has little luck with his pacing-bred trotter in 4 th place for Mikey and the Galah.

BOAY Cambridge Challenge points (after 6 races)

Blackie 50 points,   Gamma 44 points,     NoworNever 40 points,   Ranga 38 points  ,    Mikey 34 pts,

Brodie 32 pts,         Chief  28 pts,     The Galah 22 pts

The GRIN RACE.

With Double Delight needing to be in the money in the trot for Mikey he is just a fraction to far back unfortunately to take the BOAY title even if Copy That and No Matter Wat quinella it for him .

Brodster can only get to 40 points with a Copy That win.

Chief could Trifecta with the 2 Aussies and Self Assured and get 18 points . so is not quite close enough either.

NoworNever has numbers 1, 6, 9, 10 and 11 running so can Definitely Win 🏆

Gammalite has the 2 Aussies, + Self Assured and Kango running so can definitely win 🏆

Move Over Blackie !!!!

Blackie has Self Assured and Kango as well, but also Old Town Road in the Pocket to take the BOAY crown !! (maybe)

Copy That just to good but that draw at Cambridge especially is so crucial, B D Joe seems to get bad draws but in reality there were only 4 or 5 realistic chances.

I watched but if I was listening I would have got the idea Self Assured was looking likely in the last bit but was never looking likely.

I find the tv coverage all a bit rushed, that Jason Teaz type show would be ideal on a night like this, why not run it on free to air channel, let the trackside crew do their job for the whole night, just let trackside join in when it suits. Just my thoughts.

Back to the race the only thing that would have beaten Copy That was bad luck as in a bad draw.

Yeah ..Self Assured was back a bit from the first 2 , but never likely to win. He did win it last year so the 'other' NZ cup winner gets his turn which is great.

Sky Channel here in Oz, instead of rushing off to dog races immeadiately they hit the line at Nz trots, actually stayed on this time for the Trackside Lady interview with Blair Orange coming back to weigh-in , And it was Excellent !!!! he is a very well spoken gentlemen (that we never got to hear from previously in Aus) so a nice treat to end it.

I think the young lady interviewing does ok but just straight after the race, everyone is hyped up, need time to calm down and perhaps be a bit more reflective but it is what is, bet 95% of those turning up tonight at Cambridge will be noticeable by their absence next week or whenever.

Geez he ran them, did our Blair. Well done that man 👍. Turned it into a mile race after a stroll through the first bit, and I’ve always said the best stayers win miles, can click the sub quarters over & over.

Thanks again Gamma for the entertainment, certainly keeps one’s interest, be lost without that. Maiden win? That was a long time ago last century 😎.
