      The stakes-winning Greenfinch (m, 4, Justify–Misty for Me {Ire}, by Galileo), in foal to Gun Runner, brought $1.5 million from Marette Farrell on behalf of Mt. Brilliant Farm at Keeneland November Tuesday. She is a half-sister to top-level winners Roly Poly (War Front) and U S Navy Flag (War Front). She was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency as Hip 93. The 2024 Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Cairn Rouge S. heroine was campaigned in partnership by Westerberg, Mrs. John Magnier, Derrick Smith and Michael B. Tabor and trained by Aidan O'Brien.       You really are a plonker.  First you bag the horse AND Jockey and after the race you say it was a lucky run. Jamie placed the horse perfectly and put it to sleep until the right time.  Pushed through the gaps when needed and the horse did the rest. Not much luck at all.  As you should know, but obviously don't, over 3200m at Flemington the gaps will happen as horses tire up a very long straight.  Just requires a patient calm rider of the calibre of Jamie Melham to ride through them.

      A filly by Curlin realized a $1.25 million final bid from Wesley Ward at Keeneland's opening session of the November Sale in Lexington Tuesday. Consigned by Hill 'n' Dale at Xalapa, the February 20 foaled filly is out of Galloping Ami (Victory Gallop), Broodmare of the Year in 2016. Offered as Hip 82, the bay is a Kentucky-bred half-sister to MGISW Kopion (Omaha Beach), Canadian Champion 3-year-old Amis Gizmo (Giant Gizmo) and GSW and GISP Ami's Flatter (Flatter.) She was bred by Tall Oaks Farm and The Curlin Syndicate.
