    • yes 6 in that 3 year old race. 2, 2 year old races at auckland at addington, both being run with 5 horse fields,as per normal. your right about the obsession with 2 year old racing. you know, hrnz are chosing to  pay the $12,000 bonus out to the connections and breeders of just one of the 120 horses who race on friday night at addington,or just one of the 72 horses connections that race at auckland on friday.. they could have instead used that $12,000 to pay $100 to the connections of every starter at addington. Thats $67 extra to every owner and $33 to every breeder of a starter on friday. and at auckland they could haveused the $12000 to pay an extra $110 to every owner and $55 to every breeder of a starter at auckland, instead of paying just 1 lot of connections. those 2 year old races already have good stakes, but hrnz continue to prioritise the people who race and breed 2 year olds,as they obviously view them  of far,far greater importance than any other group.
    • Correct, the ones making the decisions are being paid large salaries so they are there to show that they are doing a great job or they will be moved on. I have seen it over many many years that plenty of the CEO’s get their jobs from who they know and not on ability! Many really have very little experience in actually benefitting business financially unfortunately. Is it not interesting that 3 of the Entain highest up ones up are now longer employed by Entain? How on earth can we believe what someone is saying about the positivity when this is happening? The fact that it has taken so long to begin this so called enquiry into what happened with the trot in Auckland shows that things are not flash surely? It shouldve been a few questions and then action but no, it tskes months and more wastage of money!
    • Yep.  Related to Bill Craddock who bred Durban Chief.   My dad won the Westport Cup with a good horse. LOL flew on a DC3 from Hokitika to Westport to see the Grandparents and used to walk across the road to watch the horses being trained. Karamea the first place to grow Kiwifruit. Used to stay at relatives place next to the Little Wanganui pub.
    • Heap of pubs there, a few less these days, pity the old iconic pig n whistle pub not open anymore, I know derby street, buller high school, and the hospital store dairy, Saint Canices school, Karamea the land of milk and honey its known, the oparara arches very popular, Domett Street stable of the famous Durban Chief, bit before my time.
    • @Dark Beau can you pass onto Insider that my grandparents lived in Derby Street just down from Patterson Park and my mum was born and bred in Karamea.  Seems that @Comic Dog and @Pete Lane as moderators thought that post was worth a ban. cheers
