Race 6 at Ellerslie - Weatherley was already off the horse!
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Maybe not. Just saw the head on. -
Well according to @TAB For Ever there was 12,000 there on Boxing Day. I would have thought there would have been a similar amount today hence the comment. Nothing more to my comment than that
-
Where exactly? Looks like there are more people at Riverton. Unless most of the people at Ellerslie are in the Kiddies Castle with @TAB For Ever !!

What the hell are you on about? I imagine it isn't any easier running a large racing stable with 200 horses and 130 staff than it is for someone who has 10 horses. Are you arguing we should have more Te Akau's? Anyway rather than give you more oxygen for your favourite knock the stable obsession let's get back to the topic Who would YOU have chosen to ride at 52.5 kg in The Railway? I don't expect an answer because you always shoot from the hip without any prior thought.

As always you are blinded by your obsessions. One more time for your addled brain. The point I was making was: If the RIB take over raceday control at 7:30am in the morning of raceday then it is up to them to check: 1. That the track has been galloped on and is safe to race on; 2. That the declared track rating and measurements taken have been done, done accurately and truly reflect the actual track rating; 3. That the starting gates are on course, assembled and are safe to use; 4. That the race timing technology is in place and working correctly; 5. The photo finish cameras are functional and aligned correctly. Now all those things could be checked when No. 1 above was done. Not rocket science is it? Now you just continue rambling on with your boring witch hunt. -
So you can't name any? Typical. The facts are Captured By Love after her 1000 Guineas win had a brief spell to freshen up. Her late summer/early autumn programme (widely publicised) was to head straight to Melbourne to chase some Grp race black type. Kicking off with the Manfred Stakes at Caulfield the same day as The Railway/Karaka Millions night. Hence her not being in the early market for The Railway. Sure it is a late pivot to her programme but I'm sure Matk Walker who knows much more about training horses than you do has a reason. Regardless finding a top kiwi jockey that can ride 52.5 kg that didn't have prior commitments would be a hard ask. But I guess you are going to continue in 2025 going off half cocked on your anti crusade.

Are you suggesting the RIB are biased? Where and when. -
Bollocks. Name those that can ride at 52.5 kg and who are available i.e. don't already have stable or specific horse commitments? As for not trusting a single kiwi jock Te Akau seem to have a bit of time for Wiremu Pinn who rides most of their horses. @Huey you really need to get those blinkers off.

I learnt to fly and got my private pilots licence. Every time I went for a flight I had a check list. Why is it too hard for the Stipes to do the same? Afterall THEY are sending Jockeys out there to ride, THEY are are ensuring the INTEGRITY of a race and its outcomes. No one else is responsible. -
I haven't a clue about riding but wouldn't you have your toe firmly in the stirrups at the start? Move out and up after you have found a position.
-
Has anyone noticed that every trial form line for each horse is duplicated? Then the AI generated form comment says a horse has had 6 trials when it has had only 3!!

Why didn't the RIB check BEFORE the first race? -

Why ring the Club? It would be pointless as the Quality Control organisations in the system are the RIB and NZTR. The Club provides a track and venue. -
Only if you buy into it. More to rodeo than bucking broncos.

Maybe some tuition from Blake Shinn?

Eagle Farm grandstand redevelopment: 2026 deadline nears www.racenet.com.au Queensland's racing headquarters risk falling into "wrack and ruin" within the next two years if significant upgrades aren't undertaken, the Brisbane Racing Club's new boss has warned. An August 2026 deadline has been set for the redevelopment of Eagle Farm's John Power Stand which is already beyond its intended lifespan, with recent engineering reports only declaring it "safe for now." Incoming club chief executive Karl deKroo said the Brisbane Racing Club was cognisant of the squeeze on government money with the 2032 Olympic Games on the horizon. Far from being "just another problem", however, deKroo said the club wanted to be part of the solution. SUBSCRIBE NOW! "Eagle Farm is the engine room of Queensland racing," deKroo said. "It is headquarters for thoroughbred racing in this state and it is unthinkable that such a critical venue could be allowed to wither on the vine. "After all its track issues it is now the best and most consistent racing surface in Queensland, if not Australia. There needs to be spectator facilities that are fitting of Queensland racing's showcase venue." deKroo said he was supportive of the former state government's spending at other tracks around the state and said the time had come to support Queensland's major racing facility. Picture: supplied • ‘The racing is very different': Chaves returns to happy place "The Brisbane Racing Club is not a club that has relied on handouts," he said. "Over the past decade, our board and management team have worked tirelessly to diversify income streams through a strategic property masterplan and investment in our licensed clubs network. "Every dollar we generate is reinvested into racing and our racecourses. "We've self-funded a $50m training complex that brings little direct financial return to the club but drives the entire Queensland thoroughbred industry forward. "That is the kind of commitment Eagle Farm deserves now. "We certainly don't begrudge the major investment that has been made into greyhounds, or country and provincial racing, but there does need to be a recognition of the critical importance of BRC venues and the need to invest in metro racing for the good of the entire industry." The BRC has been lobbying for a new grandstand at Eagle Farm for several years, and earlier this year revealed designs for a new scaled-down grandstand called "The Terraces". The grandstands at Eagle Farm are reaching their 2026 deadline. • Brisbane Racing Club unveils new boss "While regular engineering reports have declared it safe for now, we are facing an unavoidable deadline in August 2026. Action is not optional, we need to move and move quickly," deKroo said. "We need to start enabling works now to ensure Eagle Farm can continue to operate, especially through key carnival periods, before the John Power Stand is decommissioned and construction of The Terraces begins. "We understand the pressure on infrastructure funding, particularly with the 2032 Olympics on the horizon. However, Eagle Farm's significance to Queensland's economy and identity means it cannot be left to fall into wrack and ruin. New Brisbane Racing Club boss Karl de Kroo. • ‘We will accept and wait': Munce's 11th-hour Archie call "We see an opportunity for Brisbane Racing Club to be part of the solution, not just another problem, we are keen to engage with Racing Queensland and the Crisafulli Government to work through options. "There's nothing to say Doomben Racecourse, with its expansive infield, couldn't play a vital role in supporting the Olympic Games. "From hosting a quarantine centre for equestrian events to providing training fields that deliver an ongoing community legacy, BRC stands ready to collaborate on practical, innovative solutions that benefit racing, the Olympics, and the wider community."

I said it was probably what @Newmarket would say. However I remember watching the race and thinking why did the second two fall off? I've also seen many examples over the last few years where Jockeys have bailed leaving the birdcage when the horse has played up. I've thought "mmmm was their first choice to bail safely or control the horse?" Recently I saw Opie on a filly who put on a real rodeo act leaving the birdcage and around to the start. When there he got off and led the horse around and settled it...somewhat. He commented when back in the birdcage after the race with a big laugh - "I've never been that high on a horse before". Perhaps rodeo or show jumping should be mandatory training for all Apprentice Jockeys.
-
Well @Newmarket would argue that at least 3 of the Jockeys that hit the turf jumped off rather than fell. As for your opinion the RIB didn't agree and on this occasion I concur with their decision.
