    WTF are you on about now? Then again what would you expect from someone who finds good competitive racing on a good track in winter "BORING"! Note they irrigated yesterday.

    So presumably it happened overnight? Was the track groomed in the morning? Did the grooming cause the problem. I don't agree that it was a difficult problem to avoid or fix in a short space of time.

    You keep banging on about racing being boring at Ruakaka but don't actually give a reason why other than the inference that you have repeatedly failed to win on the punt there.

    How do you know they didn't act? How did nominating the dog cause it harm? It was scratched but then proceeded to do a trial which it passed. I guess GRNZ has the same issues that NZTR and HRNZ have with their antiquated IT systems. They require a degree of manual oversight that sometimes leads to error. However Opawa Pip trialed two weeks previoiusly on 30 July. Was that not a Safe Return to Racing trial?

    Nice track. Beach is awesome. I'd buy a harness horse and train there. Better than Woodend.

    My biggest concern about the AWT tracks has been maintenance. Weekly but more importantly daily and between races. Although we fail to look after our turf tracks at least they have a wider tolerance.

    It makes sense though. Great beach to train on and the turf track is good. Enthusiastic locals as well.

    I just happened to be talking to a prominent NZ Thoroughbred Trainer from the Waikato about the removal of two race dates from Ruakaka. He couldn't understand the reasoning. In fact he wanted to go the other way and give more dates to Ruakaka. He reckoned the track was a good track during the winter and spring. He would be keen to set up a satellite stable as would other trainers if the powers that be had a regular two week meeting - same day every two weeks. Made sense - what do you think?

    FFS are you really losing the plot? You posted the reason! Failure to inform Stewards of injury post race in a timely manner. The dog was eventually presented post race to vet with an injury. No conspiracy. Everyone doing their job but E. Cole not doing it in a timely manner.

    Geez backtrack spin Chazza. Anyone literate unbiased person can see you disappeared down a hole. You're so obsessed with lynching GRNZ and others that you missed the obvious. It was clear what E. Cole was warned about. Well clear to any literate person. I'm surprised you didn't know what rule 77 was about.

    If they had wouldn't they have picked up the problem and rectified it?

    Did the Stewards walk the track for safety prior to racing? Or do they assume that because it is a synthetic surface they don't need to?

    Why up the stakes in high end races? It has been proven it doesn't get larger or better quality fields it only increases the net loss in revenue. Why not raise low end stakes instead as well as adjusting handicapping so horses stay racing longer? Increasing the number of races is pointless if the number of horses available are declining. Unless you didn't know horses can only race so many times a year. The Cambridge fields prove that increasing the number of available races doesn't attract horses because they are not there or owners and trainers have figured that they can get into races with higher stakes more easily.

    Need more information on the specific composition of the tracks. Different variations of Tapeta AND Polytrack.
