Been. You should move your highchair closer to the TV or get someone to sit you on the bar. 😉

You'd know about being dropped but at least he got more than 50m from the birdcage! 😉 In my opinion he gracefully dismounted and had the gumption to hold onto the horse unlike some apprentices who panic and let go. But that aside - it would be a bit churlish of Harry to have an issue unless he has short memory of his own early career!

Full credit to Wiremu Pinn and those that have helped get him back in the saddle. A natural horseman and I already rate him above Michael Walker. I too noticed how he dismounted from the mare who is known as being cantankerous. Didn't let her go and took her tongue tie off. Good thinking. I also like how well he spoke after the race saying his focus was on being a better person first and then a Jockey. I also like his quip about it being a shame the Auckland Cup was no longer a Group 1.

Otaki-Maori RC 9 March 2022 – R3 – Keil Collins ID: RIB7976 Respondent(s): Keil Collins - Starter Applicant: Keith Coppins - Stipendiary Steward Adjudicators: Tom Castles Persons Present: Neil Goodwin - Stipendiary Steward, Gary Phillips - Starter Information Number: A14520 Decision Type: Adjudicative Decision Charge: Misconduct Rule(s): 340 Plea: Admitted Stewards Report Results Animal Name: ROCKET SCIENCE Code: Thoroughbred Race Date: 09/03/2022 Race Club: Otaki-Maori Racing Club Race Location: Otaki Racecourse - Te Roto Road, Otaki, 5512 Race Number: R3 Hearing Date: 09/03/2022 Hearing Location: Otaki Outcome: Proved Penalty: Assistant Starter Keil Collins was fined $300 Summary of Facts The film of the incident was shown and commented on by Stipendiary Steward Mr Coppins. The only film available (not the Trackside film as the incident was not relayed on Trackside) was of poor quality and hard to obtain a clear impression of the incident. However it did show that the horse concerned, Rocket Science, was proving very difficult to load. Starter Keil Collins, using a long Buddy whip, was seen to strike the horse a number of times on the rump. The guide ropes were up and the horse was not responding to the urgings. It backed out when just about in on two occasions and the same whip was used to prod the horse to no avail. Finally after another use of the whip and a concentrated effort by the Starter’s assistance, the horse was loaded. Stipendiary Steward Mr Coppins did comment the horse was difficult to load and had been ordered back to trials to remedy its bad habits on at least two occasions. This was confirmed by Stipendiary Steward Mr Goodwin adding the horse was a bit of a rogue. Assistant Starter Mr Collins agreed that perhaps he was a little excessive in his whip use, however he had, on a number of occasions, difficulty loading the horse on race days and at trials. The horse did not lash out but was particularly stubborn. Starter Gary Phillips agreed with the comments and stated while the horse had no vices it was extremally frustrating. Submissions on Penalty It was pointed out that this was an unusual charge. Jockey J Lowry was fined $500 for breaching this Rule while attempting to get his mount into the stalls on 18 November 2020. This was Assistant Starter Mr Collins’ first charge and comment was made by both Stipendiary Stewards that he was annoyed with himself for this happening, being brought on by frustration and it certainly could be classed as a one off. However with animal welfare being paramount it is important that incidents such as this are held to account. Assistant Starter Mr Collins, in his submission, reiterated how hard the horse was to load and that his frustration was born out by his actions. The whip was used in a flicking action on the rump. He concurred with the comments made on the importance of animal welfare. Reason for Penalty In arriving at a decision to impose a monetary penalty for this breach, the Adjudicative Committee took into account the admittance of the breach and the obvious remorse shown by Keil Collins. While it was fortunate that the incident was not shown on Trackside, it was possibly viewed by those at the track. The horse is obviously a hard horse to load and after this latest incident has been ordered to have remedial work done. A starting point of a $500 fine was deemed appropriate and then reduced to reflect the comments made in the submissions. Conclusions A fine of $300 was imposed. Decision Date: 09/03/2022 Publish Date: 10/03/2022

Are you saying the three Jockeys stood down are disabled?
-
Are you saying this comment is incorrect? Refer your comment above. You know as well as I do that what is said in public is often different to what people are experiencing. "The best crop of yearlings I've ever seen" and "This horse is a champion and the best I've had". Or "There's nothing wrong with the Riccarton track it just doesn't get irrigated properly".

Breaking The Rules To Win A G1 - Not Once But Twice

Karaka 2022 - Book 1 Results. Up on last year?
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
So that reflects the market. Vendors will make decisions accordingly although there are still options left. Although less than previous years due to the lateness of the 2022 sale. The question is will they adjust their breeding decisions come September 2022 and thus a lower number of yearlings will be catalogued in 2024? -
Karaka 2022 - Book 1 Results. Up on last year?
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
You haven't mentioned that Book 1 was up on last year and that $64m was returned to the breeding industry. Did you have a yearling in Book 2? I'm surprised the market from local buyers wasn't more bullish given the promise of substantially more Stakes AND all those AWT fields to fill. I guess local investors are holding back. -
Karaka 2022 - Book 1 Results. Up on last year?
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
No I didn't I just asked the question. Some breeders did OK at the sales. Some didn't. Some have crap mares and some produced crap yearlings. That is there is a quality aspect to supply and demand. No one forced anyone to breed did they? It's an auction you take your chances. What if NZB did or didn't "guide" the industry at the end it is individual breeders choices. Market forces - there maybe won't be as many turning up in 2 years time. That said you are surely not suggesting that NZB should tell every breeder what mare they should breed from and which stallion they should send it to? Some would argue that they do that too much already with their restrictions on who gets into Book 1. -
Karaka 2022 - Book 1 Results. Up on last year?
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
So what? It's a conversation. At the end of the day no one is forcing the Breeder to breed from their mares. Who are the mugs - the Breeders losing money or NZB making money? -
Karaka 2022 - Book 1 Results. Up on last year?
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
So you ARE having a go at NZB. No one HAS to sell their horse at Karaka. No one is forcing breeders to put their mares in foal. -
Karaka 2022 - Book 1 Results. Up on last year?
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Why would they? You keep referring to Inglis as if they are the only option available in Australia. Do the Magic Millions have these "honest conversations"? There are ELEVEN Yearling Sales in Australia. How many "honest conversations" were had? -
Karaka 2022 - Book 1 Results. Up on last year?
Chief Stipe replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
So I'm correct you are just having a go at NZB? Yes there may be other avenues for Vendors to sell their yearlings but at the end of the day it is THEIR choice where they sell them. No one is forcing their hand to sell at Karaka. -

So are you suggesting that Breeders/Vendors should have decided two years ago not to put their mares in foal i.e. reduce supply? -
All hail the King! The champ retired after third Miracle Mile LEAD NEWS Tim O'Connor 12 MAR 2022 Last Updated 12 Mar 2022 King Of Swing has been retired following his historic third Miracle Mile success. The Belinda McCarthy-trained seven-year-old produced a brilliant performance to win the $1million Grand Circuit classic ahead of stablemate Spirit Of St Louis (Jack Callaghan) and third-placed Victorian Better Eclipse (Jess Tubbs/Greg Sugars) at Menangle on Saturday night. He is now the only three-time winner of the race. An early speed burn threw a spanner in the works for King Of Swing, who was crossed in barrier one when Nathan Jack sent Mach Dan (Emma Stewart) straight to the lead at the start. But Luke McCarthy was quickly off the pegs with his charge and despite pressure from Bondi Lockdown (Aaron Dunn), managed to take up the lead in a frantic beginning to the 1609m sprint. King Of Swing’s rivals tried their best to catch him in the dash to the line, but the son of Rocknroll Hanover was too strong, holding on to win by just over a metre in a mile rate of 1:49.2sec. “That was just a massive thrill,” Luke McCarthy told Sky Racing. “After the week we've had and still being able to have him at that level to be able to win a Miracle Mile is unbelievable. “It's kind of surreal. “You dream of winning the Miracle Mile as a driver and to win three in-a-row on this horse has just been so special and it's just a dream come true.” With retirement confirmed to Adam Hamilton by part-owner Glen Moore, King Of Swing finishes his glorious career with 44 wins from 82 starts and with well over $3million in prizemoney. The 2022 Miracle Mile was rescheduled from last weekend due to a torrential downpour which hit the Menangle track in the minutes before start time. How many NZ breeders can afford to fly their yearlings to OZ? What are they supposed to do? Stop breeding from their mares because NZB decides to limit the number of horses catalogued for sale? @Tesio answer this question - how many yearlings have been sold in OZ in the last 3 months? -

Why is it a Joke? A lot less than the Aussie sales so far. Where do you sell you yearling if not in NZ'S only yearling sale? -
