  6. Just listening to Radley, Duciffy and Lizzie on 2KY reviewing yesterdays racing. Seems the 10,000 that were on course at Randwick yesterday were mostly under 30. They played a clip of the crowd singing that Neil Diamond Classic - Sweet Caroline. Sounded fantastic.
  7. Did you see Prebble leap up onto Moody and hug him? Looked like Moody was carrying a child. Prebble's son is working for Moody training to be a Jockey.

  9. But with some horses you just can't "move on"! She's lobbing along thinking it's another one of those bloody track gallops or trials - can't be shagged raising a gallop. Lane probably would have got done for not giving the horse "every chance" if it had got beaten carrying the tote on her back. What was he going to do? Stop the race and have a one on one chat with her about her attitude? I agree about bashing horses that have done their best but these rules don't help that either. "Why DIDN'T you hit the horse the allowed number of times in the run home?"
  10. Yet another case!!! Nash Rawiller cops heavy whip breach penalty over The Everest Nash Rawiller won the St Leger Stakes on Warning at Randwick on Saturday. Photo: Mark Evans–Getty Images By Clinton Payne 10:39pm • 16 October 2021 0 Comments Champion jockey Nash Rawiller copped a suspension and $20,000 fine for breaking the whip rules aboard third placegetter Eduardo in the $15 million The Everest at Randwick on Saturday. Rawiller told stewards he was “shocked” he’d struck his mount on nine occasions, four more than permitted, prior to the final 100 metres of the race. “He’s not a horse I really punish,” Rawiller told stewards. “He’s a confidence horse. “I try more to persuade him rather than overdo things. “I just feel he hit that big a flat spot over say 100 metres and I hit every second or third stride and I obviously used up my (strikes) before the 100. “I normally would have just given him two or three. “I don’t even think it was a heat of the moment. I was trying to build my momentum and it was more a horsemanship thing than anything. “I’m actually shocked I hit him that many times.” Rawiller pleaded guilty to the stewards charge and it’s the sixth time he’s been charged in New South Wales for whip breaches over the past 12 months. He’s also been charged on another three occasions for whip breaches in Queensland over the past 12 months. Stewards slapped Rawiller with a $20,000 fine and six metropolitan and provincial meeting suspension which commenced immediately, and he returns to the saddle on Friday, October 29. Eduardo’s third placing resulted in Rawiller earning a riding percentage of $70,000. Rawiller has rides on Private Eye in the Golden Eagle and Think It Over in the Rosehill Gold Cup at Rosehill on October 30. The suspension cost him the ride aboard Forbidden Love in the $2 million The Invitation (1400m) at Randwick next week.
  11. I'm waiting for the head-on. But why did Elliot pull up? He challenged for the lead and Leighton was willing to hand up and take a trail. Or am I looking at it from a Harness Racing perspective where the drivers seem to have more control?
  12. If Damian Lane hadn't have got stuck into Collette when he did the lazy B will still be lobbing lazily behind the field! Did the punters a service did Lane.
  13. Damian Lane to miss Derby Day Andrew Eddy@fastisheddy 16 October, 2021 Jockey Damian Lane (Image: Racing Photos) Damian Lane will be missing from the first day of Flemington's Melbourne Cup Carnival after he was suspended by stewards at Caulfield on Saturday for excessive whip use on Tristarc Stakes winner Colette. Lane pleaded guilty to the charge of striking the Godolphin-trained mare with the whip more than five times before the 100-metre mark - but he deferred his suspension for a week to allow him to partner Verry Elleegant in next Saturday's Cox Plate. Stewards suspended Lane for eight meetings for breaching the whip rule for striking the mare ten times before the 100-metre mark, five strikes over the limit and 12 in total, and fined him $4500, which is half of his winning fee. Lane will ride at the Cox Plate meeting and then take his suspension, meaning he will miss the four Group 1 races on Victoria Derby Day, including the likely ride aboard Colette in the Empire Rose Stakes. 14. Lane confirmed but lucky! Got an 8 meeting suspension for a whip violation on Collette. He has deferred so he can ride Verry Elleegant in the Cox Plate.
  15. We haven't seen the head on but in the side on no horse behind her got within a length. They were initially all flat footed trying to keep up. If as she says the horse shied and raced greenly so she took hold then we can see that from the head on. Presumably the Stewards saw their own video but who knows with the cut in services.
  16. But no horse on the rail got within one length of the heels of Mercurial (Leighton). R Elliot caused more carnage.
  17. "Incentivise the most jaded I've seen him. Certainly knows he has been in a race"! Great aerial vision in this video. http://players.brightcove.net/3461375237001/5Zaur6qhu_default/index.html?videoId=6101709014001 Hear Moods pump up Australian Racing - the word envy comes to my mind......
  18. Incentivise mends a broken heart Andrew Eddy@fastisheddy 16 October, 2021 A A A Brett Prebble aboard Incentivise after their Caulfield Cup win (Image: Racing Photos) Saturday began with tears and it finished the same way for owner Ozzie Kheir. The tears were flowing moments after Kheir got out of his shower at about 7:30am when he saw numerous messages and texts on his phone. Such action so early in the morning was never going to be good news but, even so, Kheir was left breathless and with a broken heart when he opened the first one. The messages informed him that Sir Dragonet, his Cox Plate champion of just 51 weeks ago, had broken a leg and been euthanised at the same venue of his 2020 heroics, The Valley, on Saturday morning. "They say that about racing, to enjoy the highs while they are there because the lows will come around as they did this morning," Kheir said on Saturday evening. "I woke to the news in the morning and I was a mess. My heart was melted and I literally couldn't think of watching a race. "I went for a walk for about three hours to clear my head and I just couldn't stop thinking about it. We love that horse and I am going to really miss him. "To be honest, I couldn't think of anything that could cheer me up. Nothing." There was one thing in the back of his mind, but he dared not contemplate it. Just a few months ago, he and fellow owner Brae Sokolski, who also part-owned Sir Dragonet with him, made a big move to buy a 50 per cent share in emerging Queensland galloper Incentivise and he was the pin-up horse for the afternoon's Caulfield Cup. Kheir, like racing fans across the country, watched agape as Incentivise came from the widest barrier of 18 and was still five-wide turning out of the straight the first time. He finally found a position before jockey Brett Prebble asked Incentivise to go again before the home corner. And go he did. On the line, his 3.5-length margin over Nonconformist was the largest winning margin in a Caulfield Cup since the legendary Might And Power in 1997. "We've got a very, very special horse on our hands," Kheir said. "We will savor this moment and enjoy it. I do think this horse will become a cult hero and be something really special and be a horse that people will look back at and love watching his replays. "I'm back. It's taken all day but I'm back. It was just such an amazing win and he's an amazing horse. I'll never forget that run today, as I'll never forget Sir Dragonet." 19. I'm listening to the Big Sports Breakfast on 2KY now. Racing roundup and interviews with trainers. An update on Verry Elleegant. Incentivise not going to the Cox Plate - Manager said "we don't have to win everything this first year!" This hour they are talking League, Cricket, Boxing and Racing again! Seems every sports commentator on every sport has an interest in racing!!!!
  20. Why don't you treat your phone as a radio? I do. I just tune into 2KY and leave it going in the background. If I had a bluetooth speaker it would be better but it works. Don't have to be glued to the phone as 2KY is a radio station not a TV channel.
