  1. Na Mark Carrol never ran away! Plus Paul Harragon is better looking than me.
  2. Only because he is consistent in telling us how great this mob is doing ra ra blah blah when the reality is completely different. I've been fooled too many times before by Racing administration to not recognise more of the same old same old. Plus it winds me up to hear JJ putting the boot into Harmess while blowing smoke up Thoroughbreds arse when it is largely the latter that has got us into the current mess. Hell what would Harness do with the $30m social welfare infrastructure paymemt that Winston gave to his Galloping mates?!
  3. How many years has the new broom been in play JJ? When will the good times arrive? Stick to commenting on how TAB punter accounts work as you have no idea about the administration and financing of the racing codes.
  4. You keep saying that ad nauseum but the fact is nothing has changed. It is just the same organisations with different names and the same groups of people playing tag as they wander on and out the revolving jobs. The new Act has changed SFA. Same with Mackenzie. The new Act facilitated Racefields charges and the creation of a mega RIU/JCA organisation. But the former has delivered stuff all additional revenue and the latter is yet to start. McKenzie and the TAB are still effectively in insolvency management overseen by the DIA. All he has done is shift cost off his balance sheet and devolved it to the codes. Net gain to the industry is actually a loss as we will see collectively an increase in administration and marketing costs across the three codes. Meanwhile we are seeing less and less transparency and publication of financial information as we race full tit towards the $35m day of reckoning in August when the overdraft facility comes up for renewal. Meanwhile the Thoroughbred industry has been suckered into investing $48m into 3 AWT's without any hope of covering annual opex.
  5. But the facts don't match your assertion based on the published information that we have seen to date. Arguably the Thoroughbred code is in as much trouble as the others and are only being propped up imported racing. They are all being propped up by Pokies! You don't seem as certain with your claims - As for the departure of Jackson and Carter well it seems like a revolving door leading to the deck chairs - with MacKenzie, George and Dawson in the respective saddles!
  6. Rule Number(s): 869(2)& Whip & Rein RegulationsFollowing the running of Race 7, Alabar Handicap Pace, an Information was filed by Stipendiary Steward, Mr P Williams, against Licensed Open Driver, Mr CJ DeFilippi, alleging that, as the Driver of BELMONT MAJOR in the race, he “used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion”. 7. Prove it? It's glaringly obvious for all to see!!!! It is only you that is making an exception of Harness.
  8. Posting fake news again I see! No but if you are going to call Harness an amateur sport run by amateurs then you have to say the same about Thoroughbreds and Greyhounds in NZ. Take the Thoroughbreds for instance - on Saturday we had track staff having a lie down on the track during a 2 yr old race at our No 1 Premier Galloping Track. At Riverton we have a 1,600m Jumps race turned into a 2000m flat race for Amateur riders! All three codes are showing a massive decline and poor governance.
  9. You should duplicate this post on the Thoroughbred and Greyhound forums.
  10. Hell I'd go. Loved my trips to China and the new Track complex looks amazing.
  11. Don't tell me - MORE DUMB MPI RULES! In saying that how can a boat load of dairy cows travel to China but a plane load of horses can't?
  12. Why are they pulling out of NZ? Did any Awapuni or Riccarton Trainers buy those bred to run on dirt?

  14. Rider Horse NZ dispersal on gavelhouse.com 22 April 2021 A dispersal of 135 Lots for the Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry (NZ) Ltd group is now live online on gavelhouse.com. Lot 106, Lady Fenuala (NZ) (Cape Blanco) offered in foal to Mongolian Khan. The 135 listings include mares and foals, weanlings, yearlings, two-year-olds and unraced stock. There are 45 in-foal mares set for auction, while a number of mares are being sold with foals at foot. The Rider Horse stock is based at two properties, namely Highview Stud in Ngahinapouri, and Willow Glen Stud in Waimate. All bar two of the Lots are being sold unreserved, with an upset bid of $500. With mares by leading broodmare sires Zabeel, O’Reilly, Pins, Stravinsky, Redoute’s Choice, Savabeel, Iffraaj and Montjeu, there is something to suit all breeders. There is also an opportunity to secure young stock by emerging sire Mongolian Khan, a dual Derby and Caulfield Cup winner, whose eldest are just three and are making a good impression, particularly as staying horses of the future. With New Zealand renowned for breeding quality middle distance and staying horses, as evidenced by the first three past the post in the recent Gr.1 Australian Derby all being New Zealand bred, Mongolian Khan looks to be a sire whose progeny can add to the legacy. Mongolian Khan’s first crop winners include stakes performer My Squeeze Louise in addition to winners Supreme Khan, Mongolian Wings, Suppression, Maria Jane, Granados and last Tuesday’s impressive Mornington winner Made By Khan. Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry (NZ) Ltd will also be selling young stallion Mongolian Falcon, a Group Two winning son of Fastnet Rock, whose eldest are just yearlings and Mabsam, the dam of three winners including I Am Invincible mare Festivity, a five-time winner for Jamie Richards and a stakes winner in waiting. Foals at foot have been branded and microchipped, with all stock recently drenched and trimmed. Lot 134, Zuccato (NZ) (Iffraaj) offered in foal to Sweet Orange. “This is a complete dispersal as a result of Inner Mongolia Rider Horse Industry not being able to export horses to China since Covid-19 hit, which is a significant part of their business,” Highview Stud’s Brent Gillovic. “Given there is no likelihood of horse flights resuming between New Zealand and China in the near future, the decision has been made to disperse the horses, with several quality offerings amongst them. “With a large number of horses on offer, I expect to see some bargain basement prices and plenty of opportunities for pin-hookers and young trainers to get their hands on quality youngstock. “I once bought a horse for $100 from a supplementary session at Karaka and subsequently sold it for $120,000 as a trial winner and expect some great stories like this to come out of this sale in time,” he said. The sale will conclude on Sunday 25 April, with the first lot scheduled for the earlier than usual time of 5PM (NZT) given the larger volume of horses to be auctioned. Due to the dispersal sale running during the usual entry phase for gavelhouse.com’s fortnightly mixed bloodstock auctions, the entry window for the next sale will open from Sunday evening through to the later time of 10AM Tuesday 27 April before launching at 5PM. If you would like to enter early email info@gavelhouse.com with your horse details to start the process. - gavelhouse.com

  19. I guess those inbred Tasmanian's have a few more clues than those one eyed Cantab's!
  20. The program for today's Devonport meeting as advertised in their calendar.
  21. Woops sorry I meant Tasmania. Gammalite will have to shift his horses back to the mainland! Trotting to cease in Tasmania Thursday 1 April 2021 Reintroduced as a trial in July 2018 and confirmed to continue in January 2020 subject to Industry support, trotting races in Tasmania have failed to achieve the support from the industry that was hoped for. Although there was strong initial support the decline has been obvious specifically over the last 7 months with races being deleted due to lack of nominations and decreased field sizes. Tasracing, after consultation with the Industry Group, have determined that Trotting races will no longer be included as part of the Tasmanian program from 1 October 2021. These six months will give those trainers the opportunity to restable their horses back to the mainland. A transport subsidy will be provided, on application, to the Trainers of the current trotting population to assist with the restabling of these horses. Paul Eriksson Chief Executive Officer 1 April 2021

      • Haha
  22. But wouldn't Tasmania have a bigger horse population than the South Island or even the CD? Information from the 2019 annual report.
  23. Well if it is any indication check out the field numbers from Davenport Synthetic in Tasmania today.
