  1. Why was the Quinella tote pool for the race nearly twice that of any of the others and disproportionately different to the Win/Place pools compared to other races? JJ once again you are showing your ignorance with regard to wagering. The takeout for the tote pools is a declared % - it has to be by law. THe Statutory Deduction is 21% NZ Only Pool and 17.5% for a Commingled Pool.
  2. Like who for example? Come on JJ show your colours? Two sides to every story.
  3. 202 as well. I like 205 the Ocean Park colt.
  4. Make sure you tune in today at 1pm. The first five lots today are crackers. All well bred, correct and good lookers. The next five aren't that bad either. Certainly overall the draft today is a step up from yesterday. Perhaps the end and beginning of the Alphabet has a better collection of mares!
  5. I can see the JJ scurry backwards starting! See that is where you AND the TAB get it so wrong. In their (and your) arrogance you have no idea of what makes the average punter tick. You confuse a promotion that is available to all with this "one bet" as you call it. The irony/contradiction of encouraging punters to bet onshore rather than offshore while openly rogering them is beyond belief. Cause and effect! Did you know that some offshore agencies have been offering Fixed Odds Quinella's for some time? Unless you are the BGP and you want such a bet where are you going to go? You won't be going to the NZ Tote will you as you know that you can get a better price offshore! It is a Marketing fail/home goal! LOL I wouldn't be surprised if offshore agencies start emailing their customers highlighting the option!
  6. It doesn't matter if they did or didn't offload on the tote. The bet was still subsidised by other punters. It was a ONE bet book with no other players. BGP vs TAB. The TAB was playing with industry revenue!
  7. Geez you have some "unfathomable arguments at times!" As it has been pointed out to you more than once now that: It was an expensive way to "promote" a supposedly "new" betting option particularly when it had negative impacts on their loyal customers; The issue that most intelligent people have with the bet had nothing to do with it being a winning or losing bet however if you look at it in those terms - BGP won - the TAB lost (aka they lost OUR revenue); The issues are - the exclusivity of the bet, the premium price offered and the offloading of their liability on the tote which effectively penalised long term loyal customers. You don't understand JJ and it is concerning that if your views are reflective of the TAB then nothing has changed. Are you actually thick or just blinded by servility? If the TAB offered a premium price above the market then it has to be subsidised from somewhere be it other revenue and or offloading liability on the tote. I suggest both therefore the loyal customer subsidised the BGP bet!
  8. That's one of the biggest issues. A question for TAB NZ - will you offer a BOAY punter's club an exclusive Quinella this Saturday? Please contact admin@bitofayarn.com with your offer. It appears that they may have offloaded on the tote pool and as you say robbing the loyal punters. Probably did that offload at the same time as we saw their Advert encouraging us not to bet offshore!
  9. They did respond and the questions we asked were quite direct. No - I asked YOU to post YOUR questions here. Our team here will gladly answer them for you without any spin.
  10. Please do go out in sympathy. If you are not here promoting another forum (your echo chamber) why don't you post your questions here for us to see?
  11. So they promote losers like BGP? Give them exclusive betting options at premium "gift" prices and at wagering amounts that are not available to anyone else. Why?
  12. BOAY was the first to initiate contact with the NZRB/RITA CEO. Others were followers. As for it being "a good read" - it is in the same vein as the manufactured spin we see pumped out regularly from NZRB/RITA/TAB NZ/Whateverthenextname and regurgitated by the likes of yourself.
  13. You talk some annoying crap and false crap at that. There's two threads on this Subject and others have commented that it wasn't right. Others HAVE posted on the BGP losing bets. Hell some of us even pointed out before race time that the Seven Twenty top three bet was a stupid one.
  14. Keep waiting. You only venture to BOAY when the echo chamber gets to you and you then try and promote people to join you elsewhere.
  15. You don't actually get it do you. It is nothing to do with the bet winning or losing. It is the exclusivity of the bet type and the amount. The fact that it was a winning bet makes it worse. You raised the issue of risk management yet dont seem to understand what that means. Allowing a bet at a substantial amount at overs in essentially a one bet book isn't a good approach to risk management. Effectively they were going away money. They appear to have covered their arse by offloading their liability on the tote essentially robbing the general punting public for the benefit of a privileged group. In my opinion that is just damn right wrong!
  16. I'm not sure that the Sales are tracking as badly as some online "experts" are suggesting. From what I've witnessed having followed it for most of the day is that it is on par with last year. Days seem to ebb and flow. If you see a well bred yearling sell short it is often due to issues with X-rays and vet reports. I've drilled down on a few and found that that was the case. That said I think the overall quality is not as good as previous years.
  17. Sure since I've clarified that there isn't any rule against it. The best system would be having a saddling paddock like they do at Kentucky Downs. After the Jockey weighs out they should then carry their own saddle to the horse and assist the trainer in saddling the horse. That would solve the flaw in Joe's approach where Jamie Richards has to carry five saddles and about 20kgs of lead!
  18. Pitty just bought Lot 121.
  19. Both Rogie and Ellis have their eye on a Savabeel colt on K1 Day 3. Not sure which one it is but probably Lot 520 out of Lovetessa offered by Cambridge Stud.
  20. I'm not "defending anyone to death" because of a perceived bias or sycophancy. The fact is I'll defend anyone without fear or favour if they have been unjustly accused. Joe - I've just checked the Australian Rules of Racing and the Queensland Racing Local Rules. There is nothing in those rules that would have prevented someone other than the trainer from carrying the saddle from the Weighing Room to the Stabling Area. Indeed I haven't found a Local Rule for Racing Victoria that states the restrictions that you describe. The following is the only reference to saddling in the Australian Racing Rules. Racing Victoria has Local Rules that relate to Saddling but they only relate to the time the horses have to be in the Saddling Paddock.
  21. Sorry but who are you pointing the finger at and calling a sycophant?
  22. So where was the "Risk Management" when they offered the BGP an exclusive Fixed Odds Quinella bet in a closed book of ONE bet? Not only exclusive but at a bonus price! Don't come back with the Bullshit justification that it was "good marketing"!
  23. Well we have to take your word for that but Ms Bosson didn't break any rules either.
  24. So Joe you can put your hand on your heart and say in all the years of your involvement in horse racing you have followed ALL the rules to the letter of the law?
  25. I'm not laughing at anyone except you Joe. To be blunt you saw something to have a bitch about and it just happened to involve one of your favourite targets.
